I know, I know

I know this has been done over and over, the swastika thing, but I want to ask:

Can I have an ALTERED version?

e.g.a multicoloured one with dots on.

How about the SS symbol?

Will I get banned for trying?

I'm fairly sure the ruling was that any swastikas at all would get kicked out. Related Nazi insignia, however, doesn't get ruled against - there are plenty of nations with German eagles and Iron Crosses.

Not in any form.

Yes, as Reochipe said.

I don't believe so. Your flag just gets replaced by the default flag.

You can use the Isle of Man flag, which is swastika-related.

What's the big hype with using Nazi-ness in your flag to begin with? To me (and probably a lot of other people) Swastikas, SS, Luftwaffe symbols etc. represent the Holocaust and ethnic cleansing and all sorts of other unpleasent stuff. Why would you want people to think that of you?

People still walk around with Che Guevera T-Shits and still use old Soviet flags. It's obvious to associate both of those symbols with the movement that killed over 100,000,000 in the last century.... so if someone wants to use certain colours in a certain pattern... what's the big deal ?

I was just asking. People'll give you a bad rap for that, but not nearly as bad a rap as they will if you're a Roman Catholic with poor spelling and grammar skills.

Wait, Che Guevera, is that the Cuba thing that says like "!Viva la Revolucion!" or "Hasta (something) Siempre"? If so, one of the Spanish teachers at my school has one hanging on her door, and I think that's cool.

hah ... ya ... communism of the 20th centuries and all of their icons are "cool"

Check the death rate caused by communist revolutions and systems of the 20th century....

cool is not the word I would use..... Evil is more fitting

Well, I meant it's cool that at my school the teacher (whom I don't really know) can have something like that hanging on the door, rather large too. I bet a lot of schools would clamp down on something like that, but not my right-brain high school, no sir-ee.

interesting... since the Swastika originally was an Egyptian symbol that Germany altered slightly.

For a "pro democracy" game, it sure has some weird rules, Not that I support Nazism, but I support your right to follow or use what you want. As long as you will take the responsibility and the consiquences of your choice.

"I support the right of the Dixie chicks to say what ever they want of President Bush... but they must support our right to react to what they say, even if it means they never sell another album in the US."

OOC here...
So I can use a `Hooked Cross' (thus advertising I'm a NAZI), but I can't use a `swastika' (thus advertising I'm a pacifist) ?

While we are at it, why not ban the colour `white', and any english word with the letter `e' ?

Oh, let's not be silly by making out that the Dixie Chicks backlash was some kind of popular protest. It was a handful of radio station owners and media moguls manipulating the news agenda. Tour takings stayed high, as did album sales (considering that said media moguls had pretty much enforced a Dixie Chicks blackout throughout the US). Their career's buoyant and likely to remain so, despite the heavy-handed attempts at crushing dissent by a bunch of Bush's wealthy chums.

This is a Moderation thing, not a UN thing.

Old topic.

Swasticas on flags were banned by [violet] and Max Barry. There is no higher authority on this game, so please quit trying to rehash it, especially on this forum. As this (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=38538) thread shows, this is an old ruling and has been debated endlessly. Your arguments, counterarguments, theories, appeals, rants, or whatever, are not new. We've seen them all before.

Not trying to OMG ABUZE MAH POWAHZ! but I'm really sick of seeing this every month or so. There's nothing that can be done about this, and arguing about it, or bringing up Communism vs. Nazism isn't going to solve anything.

Just like you can't have more than one nation in the UN, you can't have a swastica on your flag. Cope, move on, and be done with it.
