A Message To Mods (Please Don't Delete Me For Posting This)

I respectfully present this message to all mods. Since I was already deleted this morning and reinstated, I ask that you not get mad at my statements and delete me again. I posted this message because it is for the good of the game.

I know all mods are volunteers and have lives outside of NationStates, but I think I need to say something. Over the past 30 days, spamming campaigns have been put on by the regions of DEN, A Better Colonial Ambition, and others against the 10000 Islands. Now I'm not talking about "join my region" or "DEN rules" type of posts, I am talking about very vulgar, purposely rule breaking (like AIicea's clearing of TITO orders from the 10000 Islands regional message board two nights ago) or directly threatening messages.

For each of these (in some cases I probably only did this for one nation in one of the waves of the attack) NationStates rules were *very* clearly broken and mod reports were filed along with the evidence that showed exactly what they did. When different mods wrote me saying that "I can't act against that nation because the 10000 Islands message board was cleared by the time I looked at it" (note that the mods had seen me clearing my message board and never once mentioned anything about "Founder Clearing." Anyway, my point is that while I am grateful to be back, I was deleted for not adding the word "Founder" to my clearing posts and am now on my "final warning" even though I was never told before what I did was wrong, yet nations who very, very clearly break NationStates rules are allowed to continue on like what they do is acceptable.

The only thing I can say is please go after the nations that are truly breaking the rules. Respectfully, when the mods start deleting and ejecting the nations that truly deserve it, I am sure there will be less problems.

Over the past 30 days the nations listed below either posted very nasty messages, purposely cleared 10000 Islander messages on the message board to erase important messages, or conducted massive spamming campaigns. All of the nations listed below were reported thru the correct channels, and a few times I let the messages stay up on the message board for 12 hours in hope of mod action, yet nothing was ever done and these nations still exist today. Their continued existence is a stain on this game. When vulgar and abusive posters are allowed to continue on, it just empowers them to do more wrong. All I can do as Founder is eject them until they make a new nation and the cycle continues.

This is just a partial list from the past 30 days.

1) AIicea - purposely cleared the messages on the 10000 Islands message board and then left. (Probable DEN puppet)
2) Janitorial Services - multiple nasty spamming messages on the 10000 Islands message board. Ejected in the same batch as Wilkes Bare & Liddle John (A DEN puppet)
3) Liddle John - - multiple nasty spamming messages on the 10000 Islands message board. Ejected in the same batch as Janitorial Services and Wilkes Bare (A probable DEN puppet)
4) Wilkes bare - multiple nasty spamming messages on the 10000 Islands message board. Ejected in the same batch as Janitorial Serices and Liddle John (A Probable DEN puppet)
5) you will never kill me - Continued nasty spamming
6) still alive - Continued nasty spamming, in the same batch as you will never kill me.
7) Piersons Puppeteers - nasty spamming (probable DEN)
8) WhosAFool HackIs - nasty spamming (probable DEN)
9) Neer - posting an abusive message
10) Many Babies - posting abusive messages (nations 10-13 are probably the same person)
11) Muddy Pond - posting abusive messages
12) Flock Mandrill - posting abusive messages
13) Shatty Waters - posting abusive messages

The 10000 Islands stands up for regions that are attacked unfairly. When we stop the cyber bullies from imposing their will on other regions, they attack in the only way they can, thru spamming and nasty messages. All I ask is that the mods keep an eye on the regions of DEN, A Better Colonial Ambition, Dark Axis Alliance, and finally the 10000 Islands where they like to spew their anger and break the rules.

I thank you for taking the time to read this long post. I just hope that in the future the correct nations will be deleted or ejected and that NationStates will continue on in being a fun game.

Sincerely,
Grub

I'm sure the moderators are already looking into this. Be patient. Justice will be served.

I've been contibuting to the problem by filing plenty of Mod requests lately.

The turnaround varies but isn't good at the moment. The number of Mods is tiny so it is really not that surprising. As Tuesday says above, we just need patient. It all gets dealt with, although considering the size of your region I can understand your frustration.

The number of mods isn't small, it just seems to me a bunch of them are not as active in modding as they used to be (no complaint there, RL always comes first). This gives the impression of a large mod crew while the task list remains huge. If there were lots of 'mod capacity', don't you think we'd be at issue 250+ by now? More than enough have already been submitted.

One of the first things to suffer is handling spam in active regions. A mod will have to see it in order to verify it, and it just won't stay up there for 4 days straight. That's not realistic. The spammers know this, and hence know they can get away with it for quite some time. There's also a very calculated reason for the spammers actions: once a defense order hits the 10000 Islands board in time and stays on it, invaders generally run out of sufficient numbers pretty darn quickly. The correct gameplay approach would be to try to maintain undetected or recruit sufficient numbers for themselves. Instead I've seen them go the 'easy' route: spam 10000 Islands to get rid of the defensive order (then Grub posts it again, the spammers get abusive, etc...)

It is common practice that enemies spam the mods with a million false complaints, to have some nation deleted. Eventually every now and than one of those unfunded complaints sticks in the modcenter, and the end result is inevitable. Mods are human too. If one nation is target of many unfunded complaints, it will lead only to one thing. It all depends on the mood and how trigger happy the particular mod is. Congratz. with your resurection, but this isn't over yet. They can get onto Grub by filing complaints about your puppets too. Tittanica as defender is very vulnerable on that. I am pretty sure that the next time you lose a puppet and Grub again, unless you hide in a dark corner and carefully weigh ever word you post in the game, and off-site forums. This how they got rid of my fav. nation, and I'm darn glad that it didn't work against Grub. Remember that the mods need only one spam complaint to have you deleted permanently. You are still tagged

Again Congratz.

some of those are just lies grub, such as liddle john, wilkes bare, and janitorial services, there was nothing nasty said at all, in fact all the msgs posted by those nations were posts pretending to be new nations, eager to learn about 10000 islands, so no more lies man.
