UN cheat question - Different IPs, same dude behind them

Say a person controls two UN accounts. But this person is smart and uses each UN account on a separate IP address. It would be hard to prove that this person has two UN accounts this way, if they are on different IPs. But say someone else was able to prove that this person used both IPs and that this person used both IPs to have a nation in the UN at the same time. What happens next?
Does the rule about UN cheats cover people who use different IPs, more than just different e-mail addresses, to sneak nations in?

I believe that the rule covers all cases of a person having two (or more) UN nations at one time, regardless of the email addresses and IP addresses involved (I don't know how much evidence would be required for the moderators to act on such a case, however).
Ok but two IP addresses, two different computers at two different locations - plus, of course, two different email addresses - one at home the other at work. But both cannot be on at the same time - is that still cheating??

It is against the rules to have more than one UN account, simple as that. However, if a person does use two different IP's then it is harder for the moderators to detect. It doesn't change the fact that it is cheating. I believe Spoffin asked the same question fairly recently and the mod response was a definate NOPE
NOT A MOD
It is against the spirit of the rules, but can't really be found out.
I don't think the Mods will accept someone saying I know s/he has two UN accounts. So...
<-----------Not a Mod (I thought I would say it too.)

The mods use secret weapons other than IP addresses...but it would be interesting to see what they say.
<~~also not a mod (thankfully)

Well, I can think of a couple methods other than IP and email that a nation could be identified. However, I feel as thought I shouldn't mention them, so that people don't get info on what the mods here can and can't do, therefore giving them info on how to sneak around the system.
One player, one UN nation.
We have other ways of tracking UN multis.

It's interesting how one person asks this question to start with, gets an answer, and then everyone else asks the same question hoping for a different answer.

I believe people are fishing for information on how multi's are determined. Since gameplay moderation has stepped up a gear; cheaters are finding it harder to get away with using Multis.
As I've stated in an identical thread in Technical, as players we spot you to report you, we have our own ways of spotting you and we can't IP scan you. So even if you use different IP addresses we will spot you, and we will report you. So if you are going to use multis don't invade, but then what's the point.

If someone really wants to get away with something, the will find a way to ger around it. I have no doubt that there are players on here who haven't been detected and are UN multiing. It's just the way the world works.
