Region natives question...

Ok so theres a few nations in the region that I have taken over that are bing deleted for inactivity, and the rules state that I have to telegram the new password to them every time I change it. So, if after they are deleted for inactivity they revive their nation, are they still considered natives, and must I continue to telegram them the new password updates? Thanks.

Wow... interesting question. Finally, something new. Here's my read:

Up until the nation auto-deletes, you need to continue sending password telegrams, obviously. Once the nation deletes, you no longer need to, again, obviously. The tough part is when (if) they're ressurected.

Expecting you to monitor Lazarus is silly, as a ressurection can easily spam out of there, especially if several nations are being restored simultaniously. However, you can either a) have them in your dossier, or b) monitor your own regional events for their leaving script.

I'm going to be lenient on this one.

If they ask for a password to return, you must give it to them; they are still natives. However, you do not need to track them down and keep them informed. Should you notice a native being ressurected, it would be nice for you to send them a telegram explaining the current situation, and giving them the current password, but I won't require it.

I'll just strongly suggest it would be a nice and honorable thing to do. And we all know that mods like nice players.

I'm not a mod, and I've never heard a ruling on this, but since it's taking some time to answer you I'll chip in with my rambling anyway :P

Keep in mind that any invader/defender may be temporarily in control of a region, the region still belongs to the natives. So, while I would certainly hope no mod will jump on you for not noticing a native was resurrected and not immediately sending that nation a password, I do think it's good form to do so when you notice this happening. Look at it from the other perspective as well: by what rights would you deny that nation nativity? And why?

Now, this question doesn't gets really problematic until one considers nations who were already dead prior to the invasion taking place... ;)

EDIT: and Hack responded while I was typing the above. Guess I should've patiently waited for a mod response ;)

Ok, now I'll expand a bit. It shows that nations recently got deleted in Aanerica, for inactivity, if they do revive their nation, and they are still shwonn in the regional activity as being deleted, will the link be there anymore, or will it sill not be a link?

Also how long does it take a nation not in a region anymore to be a non-native? During invasion I kicked out the former delegate (immediately removed him from the regional ban list), and he has continued to receive passwords. He is aware of the invasion, and his ejection (at least I think he is, he was active a couple days and a couple times after the invasion). So when is he considered a non-native so I dont need to keep sending him the password updates that happen every day?

I assume you're refering to a line like:

"5 days ago The Republic of Captain Lag ceased to exist."

When ressurected, there will be another line, such as:

"10 seconds ago The Republic of Captain Lag left this region for Lazarus."

'Lazarus' and 'The Republic of Captain Lag' will both be clickable. Also, if Captain Lag's death event is still on the events (which it isn't likely to be if you're changing the password daily), his name will become clickable.

Also how long does it take a nation not in a region anymore to be a non-native? During invasion I kicked out the former delegate (immediately removed him from the regional ban list), and he has continued to receive passwords. For now, I'm going to say until he asks you to stop updating him. He may be planning a counter invasion, or any number of things. If he didn't want to continue to receive updates, he'd tell you.

If you want, feel free to send something like: Hi! Once again I've changed the password. The new password is:

fyuh235789

If you no longer wish to receive password updates, please let me know, and I will stop sending them to you.

It might be a plan to save any such request to stop for awhile. CYA, as it were. Caveat: you cannot force him to request continuing updates, simply give him and opt-out choice.

Hey, thats about what my passwords look like lol! heres a former password: E71P439dJS. I wrote a quick program to randomise them for me then add them to a former passwords file cos I knew that I would get tired of thinking up words. Does it show that he got his nation back? im a bit confused on that......

Eh, it's all Head-Crypto anyway (smash your face against the keyboard while randomly tapping shift).

When a nation is ressurected, there are 3 ways to tell.
All game side (not Forum) links to the nation become valid again (ie: old telegrams, dossier entries, etc.).
In the nations old region, they will see something like "Seconds ago, The Republic of Captain Lag left for Lazarus."
In the region Lazarus, they will see something like "Seconds ago, The Republic of Captain Lag arrived from Whatever the hell region he was in."
