Looks like flaming in the UN forum.
Thread: "vote NO on space defense"
http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=139705
the author is a swindler and a cheat, I have proof and pictures that he cheats on his "wife" with a man, vote NO he lies
Dunno if this actually breaks any rules or not, but eh.

Why would people post stuff like that?

This seems very inappropriate to me.
Wow. That's gotta be flameing, flamebait, trolling even! Just a question, his claims are unfounded, could that be concidered libel? Or am I just thinking too much?
Either way, that was kind of cold.

That would be libel, it he'd said it in person it would be slander. Sorry just thinking entirely too much.
I know that I'm thinking way, way too much now, but could you sue for being libeled in NS? Since no one knows who you really are, I'd doubt it, but anything is possible!
I'm just kind of curious though.

In the US you cna sue for ANYTHING
I can sue you if you're walkign down the same side of the street im on
the question si, will it hold up?
In this case....i think its got a decent shot if you compare it to previous cases....like the man who broke into a home, got traped int eh graugem and sued, and WON from metal damaged while trapped inside.....
Sorry for kind of hijacking this thread but:
If you did sue me for walking down the same side of the street, you'd lose and I could then sue you back for fileing a false complaint and I'd probably win some money.
I don't think that you could win in a libel or a slander case unless you can prove that other people know about it and that it affected you in some way, but I'm not sure. Oh, LOL, but that dude probably went to jail for robbery anyhow, so he really didn't win too much.

This is a case of art imitating life.
RL parliaments make a regular practice of ad hominem attacks when substantive argument proves ineffective.

meant to do this last ngiht, forum went bad
1st point: EXACTLY! id lose, but i cans till do it
2nd point, No, i think he got off free......but dont hold me to that
I find that case a little hard to believe, simply by sueing the other man, the robber would have had to have incriminated himself somehow, unless he took the 5th a whole lot of times! Either way, there is no way he could have gotten off free!
When I said "can you sue," I kind of ment, "can you win." I know that you can sue for anything.
