Is now attempting his one-person crusade in other posts.

http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=134674&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=20

being one example.

Is becoming disruptive, and, I fear, obsessional (look at posts per day please).

Over to you.

Indeed. He's starting to act like he thinks he's a mod. He keeps complaining that a mod should do something, but he never posts anything in the Moderation forum, or anything else. Don't delete the guy, but please tell him to shut-up?

It's simple, though. Don't talk to him, don't "debate" him (as he likes to call it) and maybe he'll go bother someone else...

Although there will always be those who choose to respond to his inanities.

I would love to have a civilized debate of the issues. Oh and also, I am no mod. And also, even if this is a one man crusade its a crusade, even though its not just me.

How old is he/she/it?

I'm not an it I'm offended by that and will tell mods. I am 72 years old.

Gerny, this is not a civilized discussion. This is just annoying...

Alright, Gerny, if you want to be helpful to the Nationstates community, here's whatcha do:

-Knock off the 'crusading'.
-Get a bit thicker a skin- discussion of lots of 'offensive' things goes on here.
-If you see something you suspect is against the rules in the forums, instead of posting to it or whatever your crusade is, come over to this forum (Moderation), post a topic about what you found, and in the post include all the relevant information, including the name of the offender, what they're doing that you think is against the rules, and any relevant links.

Getting your undergarments in a twist over every little thing, such as Nanakaland's inquiry about "How old is he/she/it?" (which was most likely just because Nanakaland was uncertain of your gender) will only get lots of people, mods included, extremely annoyed. We do a lot of work to keep thing going (mostly) smoothly, and somebody running amok raising hell over relatively little things doesn't make it any easier.

Common history is easy, try this Name the places these 4 operations took place - Operations "Torch", "Overlord", "Market Garden", and "Olympic-Coronet"
BTW, they made movies about two of them

This serial pest has now admitted to being a previous troller and to having been previously deleted.

He seems to think his antics were amusing.

The greater majority of us found them irritating, and, at over two hundred posts per day, a terrible waste of server time and space.

Can some action be taken to prevent a recurrence of a self-confessed serial pest?

As I feared, this fool has now reincarnated as Drerer at

Please do something about this serial pest.

Gerny is gone. I do not mourn his loss. I tried to be friendly to him - probably like some others - and pointed out some of his errors, yet he took everything I said as an offense (I'm an Inoffensive Centrist Democracy in NationStates and an inoffensive centrist in real life). I'm glad people like him aren't mods.

Since Gerny got himself modbombed so didn't get a chance to answer Furry Folk's question, anyone else want to have a go at it?

Torch - North Africa
Overlord - Normandy
Market Garden - Netherlands (Arnhem, Nijmegen, etc)
Olympic-Coronet - never heard of it

I have watched the whole World At War series a couple of times, hehe. And I have been to Nijmegen and Arnhem, wlaked around the battlefields. Very lush, green, serene places. :)

Olympic-Coronet was the name of the plan to invade Japan itself, which, fortunately wasn't needed thanks to "Little Boy" and "Fatman"

Not to mention what happened to their army in Manchuria at the same time. Rarely in history has a 1.5m strong army been defeated in two weeks.

Manchuria was where they started the whole mess on their side of the world and partly where it ended for them.
