Moderator: Why do you allow things like these?

Why is the thread "Last one to post here wins" and such similar threads allowed? I can see word games a being legit because there is a topic to said thread, but with "Last one to post here wins" threads, it's just random blurbs of meaninless chatter for 65 pages..

So why are these types of threads allowed?

Because they're deleted at 65 pages.

Why should this offend you?
So there is one deliberately poppintless thread.
Just don't read it; it won't hurt you (negligible bandwidth).

Besides, if you ban these threads, people will only vent their boredom elsewhere and potentially lots of threads will be spammed... besides, if you actually READ that thread, some of the stuff can be funny!

Here's something I don't understand. When the decision was made to cap threads at 65 pages, one of the justifications was that longer threads slowed down the server. If that's true, then given the almost unusable nature of NationStates at most hours of the day, wouldn't it make sense to put a much lower cap on spam/chat threads before they're locked or deleted? Or are they not a big part of the server problem?

I doubt that these long threads hurt the server that much.
It's just overloaded for what it was meant for, period.
