Moderators

I think Moderators should be regarded with respect and they should be impartial.
I realize that everyone has a right to their opinion but when Mods post outright lies under the title of Game Moderator it isn't right. It only takes away from the game -- adds nothing of value.
Recently one moderator said that Bush was a dam liar. She has absolutely no proof of this. Another moderator now has said that the United States Air Force is just as guilty as the terrorist's in Spain. Again, this is opinion and there is absolutely no proof of this. In fact, it is quite contrary.
Can't these opinions be posted under another title other then Game Moderator? It isn't right.... Thank you. :D

Proof of the air force allegation was provided in that same thread.
Whether or not something is a lie may be a subjective judgment call. I'm sure you have your own description of the descrepancies between the official administration statements and consequent revelations.

I disagree, that is her view and becomes a Mod should not stopo her posting her view point. Everyone knows people have a go at her for her viewpoint but people should respect it. She could be right,

I can only speak for myself.. the other mod you mention will have to address you himself. Yes, I do believe that Bush is a lair, I make no secret of that. However, you're mistaken.. I never post my views and sign it with Game Moderator If I am acting as a Game Moderator I always say so by signing it as a Game Moderator. If I don't, then I am simply acting as a regular player. We're not paid to be mods. We, like you are players who became mods. There would be no mods if we were not allowed to also partake in the game I would think. It's a volunteer position. Why would any one become a mod if they also couldn't play the game? Makes no sense. Don't worry.. when I am using my "Moderator status" I am fair and impartial I assure you. If I don't sign the bottom with
"Stephanie
Game Moderator"
Then it's not a mod action.. I'm simply voicing my own personal views and they do not reflect that of the moderation staff or the game. We've had this discussion before. You can't expect the mods not to also enjoy the game as you do. We have opinions too. I know you're very pro-Bush.. I respect that, I however am not. These are my personal views and should be seen as such. It has nothing to do with the way I mod the forums.. I hope this clears this up for you.

I'd like to elaborate upon what Stpehistan said:
NationStates Moderators are only required to be fair and impartial in the exercise of their powers within NationStates. While real-life politics may be civilly discussed on the "General" board of the NationStates.net forums, the activites of real-life politics do not fall within the scope of NationStates.net. Therefore, we Moderators are not required to be impartial.
For example, if there were a dispute regarding regional recruitment spam, then this would fall within the scope of our responsibilities and we would be required to be impartial, regardless of whether the region being advertisied is themed as liberal, conservative, anarchist, or Tolkienesque. However, the operations of American government fall outside the scope of our responsibilities as NationStates Moderators and we can therefore argue (civilly) any political viewpoint that we want: Democrat, Republican, Green, Libertarian, Socialist, Communist, whatever.
To draw an analogy, a baseball umpire is not required to be impartial at a soccer game; making rulings on a soccer game is the responsibility of soccer officials and falls outside the scope-of-responsibility for a baseball umpire. ("Soccer" a.k.a. "International Football", not to be confused with "American Football".)

That is an outright LIE. No proof was offered by any stretch of the imagination. None!
[Moderator Edit - Cogitation] You seem to be confused about how to manually use BBCode to quote someone. I have taken the liberty of editing this post to demonstrate.
You can read more about BBCode here (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/faq.php?mode=bbcode). I hope this helps. [/modedit]

To Stephistan & Cogitation. No sense in quoting both of you. Thank you for the explanation and taking time to reply. Appreciate it. :)
