A group of invaders took over China (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=china) and kicked-banned the native delegate and a few others out of the region more than an hour ago and posted this message to the civil HQ:
The Republic of Imperialistic China (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=imperialistic_china):
NOTICE TO ALLL NATIONS.

Now that China is proerty of the Alliance of Imperials, your delegate has been banned. You will be given the choice to join us, and fight against the ADN and the FF.

Please disreguard as the invaders have now complied and unbanned the natives.

The Confederacy of Nurkan (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=nurkan):

You know that since Alcadi is a native you must UNBAN HIM NOW or you will be conducting an ILLEGAL invasion.

This type of behavior may result in you nations being DEATed by the mods.

Just trying to offer some helpful advice here from a fellow player.

This invasion has been deemed illegal. Two natives have been ejected, but not removed from the banlist, and the password has not been properly distrubted. Delegate tag cleared, password cleared, banlist cleared.

I DID REMOVE THEM AND I WAS ABOUT TO DISTRIBUTE THE DAMN PASSWORD.

While I think that he was late in unbanning them, he did unban them (less than 1 min before the mod action though), I was just hoping for a mod to warn them to unban the natives.

Has anyone ever bothered to specify a time-limit for invaders to un-ban original members of a region? Just as players need guidelines/rules... so do mods. if they do not have guidelines... it is ledft to the whim of each mod to determine how a situation should be handled. Some mods here are out-standing (wish I could get them for my own RPG's), but others clearly show a bias and a lack of training.

The natives have to be unbanned instantly. If an Invader Delegate overlooked this detail and unbanned the natives later, then a Moderator may decide to show leniency at his/her own discretion. Nevertheless, if an Invader Delegate leaves natives banned for more than a few minutes, that Delegate is in violation of the rules.

Correct a typological error that resultant in an illogical consistency.

Thanks for the info, I have been looking in the stickies for an answer... with no luck. Is this specified anywhere or is it a ruling made by the mods?

I recently made some modifications to the Big Invasion/delegate FAQ!
(http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=109397) and it reflects what I just told you now (most notably in the red section on what's illegal.

You may have read that sticky already, but the change was made not long ago; maybe a week or two.

Now that I know where to look... I will go read it. One problem that I'm having is that rules, customs, traditions, etc. of NS are to spread out.

You mean they have to ban everybody or they're in violation of the rules? :P

I post the following public service announcment, not as a NationStates Moderator, but as a fellow denizen of the Internet:

Ladies and Gentlemen: Posting messages to discussion forums while sleepy will result in more mistakes being made (as compared to posting while completely awake and alert, all other circumstances being equal).

"Think about it for a moment."
