The nation Corinthe was DEATed about two hours ago. Since someone is gonna start a topic about this at some point, it might as well be me, now, as I have a question.

In The Young World:
113 minutes ago: The Magnificent Colour Display of Corinthe ceased to exist.
113 minutes ago: The Democratic States of Proud Mary ceased to exist.

Corinthe claims that her sister posted a 'retaliatory' recruitment add, and got deleted for it (Proud Mary), and at the same time Corinthe was deleted.

Please, is there a way for the mods to check (login times? connections from elsewhere?) Corinthe's claim of this being done by her sister and not herself?

The reason I ask is that Corinthe having a sister playing as well has been a claim she has made since the first time I ran into her in the game. While she surely can be annoyingly hyper-active and stuborn, I do not regard her to be the kind of person who would tell a lie.

To anyone else: please do not use this thread to celebrate or gloat. Start your own thread in General if you must.

I agree wholeheartedly. She has made phenomenal contributions to this game, and her region is pretty darn impressive. Its pretty much just an open area for griefers now.

Why was SHE deleted (as well as proud mary) and not any of her other puppet? I know for a fact that she doesn't do much recruiting from the nation of corinthe.

Wow. This certainely completes the book of Corinthe as she seems to have 'declined' rapidly from what I used to know her to be like. It's amazing the change that she has gone through.

I hate to be an I told ya so, but, about a week or two ago I told her her spamming was really annoying a lot of folk and would get her Deleted.

I hate to see her go but well she was on chance 2 as I understand.

what was she actually deleted for? was it the spamming of the regions? or was it abuse?

Despite Ballotonia's earlier request, I haven't seen much of a discussion of reasonable quality.

I assume she is deleted for breaking advertising rules (as it's seems that's her main occupation, she ain't no griefer). I may remember something about the origin of this case.

Yesterday, that would be friday morning (european time), some reqruiter advertised on the regional headquaters of "The Young World"... and she returned the favor, by posting an add for her region there. Could this be the reason?

I'm not saying Corinthe didn't broke the rules, she did, and she knows them well, she should be punised..

And if this was the reason... is the one who (intentionally?) provocted this incident, also deleted? He should be, because he's equally guilty, he spammed a regional board of a player-created region (in casu The Young World). I'm afraid I can't remeber the name of that nation, nor the region though...

I sgree that she broke the rules, but in the past, players such as Marathon and Beeker who did far less for this site (Marathon, I'd go so far as to sayhad a negative net impact on the site), were given far more chances before their deletion (and in Beeker's case, it took two more deletions after that to result in an IP ban)

I've only seen nations deleted for recruiting on a player region once, and it was a repeat offender (Goodrem and Crisps of the region Cymru, you can ask Steph for details).

Corinthe had a forum ban, so was sadly on her last leg I guess.

I'd of course *like* to see harsher penalties for recruiting in player regions in normal(as opposed to retalitory, although I agree that that was wrong to do that normally('K I've done it myself once, but only because a mod was reluctant to act, and gave me permisson to take matters into my own hands. Now they've grown much more willing.to take action.)), I can understand her frustration.
On fast moving boards, it'll be scrolled off before a mod can see it, and being forum banned she could not get mod verification. What did you expect our hot-tempered young friend to do then?

I also wonder if the fact that it was retalitory was part of it. A sort of, "we'll punish malice harder" type of thing

At some point doesn't it become a bit extreme to discuss how many times a person has to be deleted or punished before being kicked off. I agree there should be some consistency, but it took too long for Beeker to be removed from the game.

If she did break the rules again, a likely factor will be how unapologetic she was in the past for her infractions.

We'll have to wait and see whayt happens though..

She may have broken the rules.. (I didn't say anything about the punisment though).

I was just remarqing it's the duty of the mods always to stay objective. No one should get any preferential treatment... because after some punishments, some naive people come here, and keep whining to get their nation back... mods don't do that. If you have been punished, it's because you broke the rules, then (too bad) you'll have to accept the consequences.

Ahh, but in a real court of law, do they not take sevice to the community and country into account when sentencing? And this isn't even a democracy, it's a dictatorship where prefferential treatment might well be expected. Even though Max and the mods have been very good about enforcing the rules justly for the most part, there is such a thing as drawing the line too clear.

As for spamming recruitment ads in the Pacifics, yes, I hate it and wish it were banned, but I certainly don't wish that Corinthe was deleted for it. Just that it be outlawed, and offenders afterward the ruling warned.

It is, alas, currently not illegal to spam recruitment in the Pacifics as evidenced by several posts by mods, though try as Loopie and I do to get it changed, we just aren't persuasive enough.

Other then go to her house and question them both, they have to simply choose a punishment. None of us know what really happened, how should they?

Odd. WHen nations die in my dossier, everything disapears except the name and the check box, but those are still there. :?

I'm not posting as a Mod here - not the absense of the sig. I just wanted to know what the deal with the flags was. Off-topic, yeah, but you know, curiousity?
