a freind of mine who frequently visits the EGM forums told me of a plot of some of the posters there to take over NS. i dont know if this is true or not but i thought it warranted attention.

Well, I imagine they could try... But seing as they are people, I dont think its illegal for them to vote... It would be kinda hard to crack down on such a thing.

Heh, it'd take a lot of people (and a lot of UN multies) to take over the UN... and that won't do a thing to the vast amount of non-UN players.

It would probably make the rejected realms swell to over 30,000 nations if they succeeded

That's a pretty big 'if'- there was a guy awhile back, when I first started game modding here, that tried to bully the mods into re-instating his original nation, by using a script to generate hundreds of UN multies and grief tons of regions.

He didn't succeed either.

hehe, it would be kinda funny if someone was able to hold the UN hostage through *legal* means

I'm not part of the UN.

Even if those guys succeed, they'd probably slip up, do something illegal, and there'd be massive deating. The number of needed mods might also increase.

yeah I'm not part of it anymore either, that's why it would be funny

It'd be a feast for the eyes to see massive DEATs and the UN falling in one day.

However, the enemies haven't realized that not all nations are in the UN, UN multies are not allowed, griefing is illegal and usually results in deating, and some major regions are password-protected.

And that other major regions (and some not-so-major regions) have active Founders. :P

They'd need 5000 active, same-minded members to even influence the UN to swing the other way, resolutions often pass by 7000+ votes.
