Banned from the West Pacific

I am the recruiter for The Realm of Criminology and was just banned from the West Pacific. I find this action not only irregular but quite intolerable. I am quite conscious of the rules for recruiting, and I even have taken a stance against merely posting a message in the Civil HQs, based on a recent thread in this forum. As such, I was sending individual messages to invite nations who were interested in joining our region, thus there was nothing political or subversive in my message. In fact, here is what I have been t-gramming:

"Greetings [insert nation]

I am currently on a recruiting mission from the Realm of Criminology. The Realm of Criminology is a region where we hope to be able to establish a fair and equitable justice system for all of NationStates. If you are interested in helping our region grow and develop a World Court, please consider joining us. If you are a UN nation, we ask that you please endorse our delegate. Please feel free to visit our regional forum at: (http://dcanevit.proboards25.com/index.cgi). All nations interested in helping in this endeavor are welcome.

Sir Robert Peel
Recruiter
The Realm of Criminology"

If I am doing something wrong, please someone inform me. Our region is absolutely dedicated to bringing in active nations who might be interested in justice issues. Thank you very much for any replies that may elucidate this matter.

As far as I know, the Feeder-Delegates may eject whoever they want on whatever grounds they please.
While its not nice and certainly in my opinion a little under handed to ban a telegram-recruiter, dems the rules.

I don't see how it matters -- if you're recruiting by telegram anyway, his banning you doesn't stop you from sending them.

I am sorry, but how does this ban list make his action legal?

Yeah, the logic is missing from that.

No invasion has taken place in any of the feeder regions, recently. Thus, the invasion rules don't apply and the Delegates of those regions may permanently ban whomever they wish. They simply can't ban a large number of natives as that would be griefing (and not even Francos Spain has banned enough nations to come even close to being a griefer).

Posting recruitment ads in the CH boards of the feeder regions is legal under NationStates rules. Delegates banning you from those regions is also legal under NationStates rules.

How about giving us preemptive banning powers for serial spammers

Such a suggestion would belong in "Technical".

Thanks Cogitation for clearing all of that up.

I agree with 1 Infinite Loop's previous comments that these recruitment ads have been clogging up the civil hqs. The last thing I want my region to do is contribute to clogging up the civil hq, so I have told my recruiter to not do that, but to simply send invitations by t-gram that are somewhat personal. Quite honestly, since doing that, we have had more positive responses than the old post in the civil hq method. I think if I were a delegate of a feeder region I would probably want to resist these postings as well.

So, to all of the feeder delegates, I offer a very sincere apology and I want you to know that our recruitment strategy should be less onerous from here on out. Accordingly, I hope that if my region (The Realm of Criminology) appears to have caused some consternation that you would give me the courtesy to tell me so that I can make adjustments. The last thing I want our region to be associated with is spam!

Well spoken this far, and I agree that the spamming in the Feeders is a huge problem. When hasn't it been?

But, I do think that a once a day per player per update is a good rule on spamming the feeders. It is nice to be able to put out a recrutiment message to the newbs, but it is no doubt being abused.

Now see, RoC understands the comotion that can be caused by spammers and has modified their actions accordingly, if only certain other criminal, , I mean Serial Spammers could do the same,

RoC, if you want please post a message in the EP offsite forum, there is a Yellow pages sub category there for jsut such things.

Well, just wondering...
If you telegram all the nations in a region, would that be considered spamming?
Posting on the regional HQ is, right?
Just want to make sure I don't do anything wrong ;) I've never recruited before... :P

Telegraming a region of about 30 members and all active ones, i guess that would be spamming. For Recruiting i stick to the U.N boards.
