Hacking?...

I have an urgent problem, mods... Some people from a region called Warclan1 have vowed destruction to my region, have hacked into the region and spammed it... They also mentionned on their regional board that they have some sort of program, a hack of some sort, which they will use against our nations, as they said, "against our accounts".
Of course, this goes against the rules, and I wish you could take action against them as swiftly as possible.

Odds are that they mean to try and guess your password (a tactic often called brute force.) There have been a number of problems recently due to many users of offsite forums using the same password on those forums as for their nation, resulting in unscrupulous forum admins stealing passwords.
The best defense against their so-called 'hacking' is to have a good password that is at least 8 characters long, contains numbers, letters (upper and lower case), and punctuation marks.

What forums allow admins to view passwords? My alter-ego is admin for an Invisionfree forum, and while I can change passwords, I can't see them. Mind you, the database and server are hosted by Invisionfree; I suppose if you had your own database you could do something more nefarious.
Is there any chance that the mods will publish a list of regions that have had their off-site forums mis-used in this way? I don't know about the rest of you, but if I was in one of those regions, I'd certainly want to know about this kind of invasion of my privacy.

An improperly coded forum will allow the admin to access the passwords. I'm sure that's not the intent, but it happens. Even if they cannot access the password directly, they be able to get enough information to guess the password. So, just don't reuse passwords.
We are not sure how wide-spread this problem is, sorry.
