Should you post it if you know it will be flamed?
I have an idea for a topic that I know will get flamed. This is not an idea that might get flamed, or could get flamed, but it will get flamed. It will not contribute anything to NS as a whole, and will most likely earn me the title as a 'racist' (I do not believe I am one. Yet, people who are almost never know it). However, I would like to post it for the informational value, for the fact that it is the truth and should be spread. It relates to ancient history, approximately 1200 B.C. (3,200 years ago), and really has no effect on the modern world, yet I believe information and knowledge should be shared (One of the reasons I belong to so many internet forums).
So, should I post it?
Also, please don't ask me to say what it is in this thread. If I do, this thread will also be flamed (even though it is in the Moderation forum).

If you're sure it will be falmed, and it does NOT add anything of value, then how is it anything othe than flamebait?
The value is just the spread of knowledge. If I posted Eintsein's theory of relativety, or Galileo's findings about the solar system, etc. there'd be no real gain to the NS community besides the spread of knowledge.
Also, I don't think it's flamebait because I don't want it to be flamed, just that it will be flamed (Ex. You go into a bar and want an apple juice. This is a 'biker bar' as is so often seen in the movies. If you order an apple juice you'll get the **** kicked out of you. You don't want to get the **** kicked out of you, but you want the apple juice. A dilema has appeared)

Normally, I would invite you to telegram me the proposed content for approval. However, you should be aware that I will not be online for the next couple of days. If it can wait, feel free to telegram me. Otherwise, perhaps another Moderator will have an alternative suggestion.

I'd have to collaborate with Collaboration on this one (hehe)...sounds messy.
If you felt it dangerous enough to necessitate asking the Mods first, it's probably a bad idea to post it. Further, if you know you'll get flamed up and down, it's also safe to assume that the thread will be locked quickly. I'm all for freedom of speech and expression, but it almost sounds like you've answered your own question just by posting here. Just my two cents, as they say. 8)

Flamebait: Posts that are made with the aim of angering someone indirectly. Not outright flame, but still liable to bring angry replies
(like having a topic title declaring that '[whoever] is an idiot' for example).
It can wait (it's already waited 3,200 years, I think a few more days wont make much of a difference). I'll TG it to TG when he gets back.

Now I'm very curious. I suspect that I'll be disappointed after all this buildup though.
Your probably will be disappointed, unless you're a history buff or a racist/person who's racist against racists
Also, I don't think it's flamebait because I don't want it to be flamed, just that it will be flamed (Ex. You go into a bar and want an apple juice. You've been warned before Klonor.
That's why I'm asking this. I don't want any more trouble with the Mods
P.S. My 7,000'th post!
