The Regional UN Delegate in Cuba, Vardun, has griefed the region. All nations have been ejected and the region has been left with a password on it.

This is a case for the Getting Help (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=help) page. I have filed a report reading as follows:

* 92 minutes ago: The Colony of La Nouvelle-France departed this region for The Rejected Realms
* 92 minutes ago: The Famous Province of Vardun ejected The Colony of La Nouvelle-France from the region.
* 92 minutes ago: The Theocracy of Alkaid departed this region for The Rejected Realms

I filed a report on the FAQ page as well...one quick question. How does one gain access to the regional banned list from outside the region?

You can't change anything, but can see whether it's passworded, ban list, etc.

Oh how my fingers itch to scavage Cuba. Even though I know better (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=109590) it is just- so- tempting.
If I wasn't trying to prove to Neut that region hawkers do not scavage and nab regions, I probably would. . .

Yeah, sorry about that broken link, I fixed it.

The problem is that Cuba was long unfounded, and as much as you may feel that you are doing them a favor, you still aren't a native (even if you were a native, unless you talked to your fellows and got their support first I'd still find it amoral), and are taking advantage of their tragedy to take over the region.

Of course in the past the mods have used roll-back, so if they continue with their pattern, scavenging it will prove pointless anywhen.

I will leave the decision to the mods. I have refounded the region. It is open to all and I will accept any modifications that are required.

I don't know if it is actually a ruling, or just a pattern.

It doesn't happen too often.

Atlantic Alliance about a month ago, and one or two other way back in the past were the only regions which I have seen rollback used on.

The rest I just took cg's word that the regions she scavenges are immdiately returned to their former owners.

I see...the problem with Cuba is that it seems every few weeks it gets a whole new set of "natives"...there have been so many occupations and invasions that I doubt any true natives are still in existance...I know my own group has assisted in defending Cuba from invasions on two different occasions. Vardun, the Delegate that ejected all the nations, is actually a native of one of the French regions I believe.

LUE is like that too.

It's what makes founderless battlegrounds so much fun to stash puppets.

Yes, we have participated in several battles in LUE as well...

yeah, i've recreated regions that were griefed a few times by invaders before (last time was with the region called "the land of ice and snow").

this way, the griefers can't recreate it, the natives can return home, i can get the natives from the un report in my dossier, explain to them what happenend and when a lazy mod gets by, he can restore the old founder, or if there wasn't a founder, remove my puppet as founder (i usually do this with griefings i've spotted myself, and reported myself).

so in this case, when the mods get by, they'll probably do the same i think..

well when I was prowling around the other day I noticed Guantanamo Bay existed, might be a good place for them to relocate.

Exactly, except that many of the nations on that list were part of the previous invasion...not sure who will be labelled as "native" in the region...

I've removed the Founder of "Cuba" and deleted "Vardun". No action will be taken or warnings issued against "Borogravia Moldavi" for refounding the region.

I'll take a deeper look into this incident when I have more time.

and everyone says our mods are bad, well Cog is pretty good.

I do however miss reading the I hate X mod threads they are funny.

This is what I wrote a few hours ago in the wrong forum.

My nation got deleted and I don't know why. I did organised an attack on the region Cuba but I don't have more than one UN nation. What is the problem then ? I thought we were aloud of invading regions....

I've been playing nationstates for now a year. Plz dont tell me I cant have my nation back !

After reading all of this and the threads that were in english, I noticed that I did a big error. I didn't know at this time that we were not aloud of passwording a region (why this option is there then ?) and that we were not aloud of banning the nations to put a founder.

I apologize for what I did to the nations in Cuba and for the trouble I have caused...

Has I said before, I really love nationstates and I still think it is a great game. I've put a lot of my time in this and I don't want it waste because of a stupid mistake.

Plz understand... Plz put back my nation and you will never heard of me again. I promess.

Let me reiterate something:

Do not refound a region that has been griefed UNLESS you are a native of that region.

Although Cog is a lenient mod when it comes to minor infractions and technicalities. :p

Borogravia Moldavi filed a Getting Help report on the incident, thus bringing himself to our attention. This is why I didn't delete him for region-napping (or whatever the term is, I forget at the moment).

Odd technicality which I thought of:

Would it be legal, in an attempt to prevent a more unscrupulous region-nabber from taking power, to create a puppet, move it into a region in question (making it Founder), and then immediately file a Getting Help report containing the name of the nation and the password to the same, so the mods could control the Founder-puppet?
