First of all, how did you post that if you can't log in?

And second, did your nation maybe get deleted by a mod?

Hence my confusion.

oh and I come directly to the forums usually (the general one to be more exact) rather than going through the main bit of NS.

Bump for MP, as the topic is drifting down the topic list and I see a few mods on.

If he is getting the IP banned message whenever he looks at the main site, I think there is a rather obvious reason he won't be TMing a mod about it.

Kinda odd that you get an IP banned message on the site but not the forums. :?

Does your ISP use dynamic or static IPs?

Yeah TM's are kinda out of the question atm.

I don't know enough about modems and things like that sry :? I'm on a 56k dial up if that matters.

Then it's very likely you use a dynamic IP to connect to the internet.

To translate: Whenever you dial up to your ISP, you get a different IP address. It is conceivably possible that you got the IP of someone who had, for whatever reason, been banned from NS. It also means that next time you dial back up to your ISP, you'll get a new IP that (probably) isn't banned.

As long as it wasn't actually you that got the IP ban, you'll probably be fine.

I've disconnected and reconnected a few times since it started, and it still doesn't work.

I've seen several green names appear and still nothings been said. Or do I need a game mod?

A mod can check your IP and see if a ban request was made on it.
Unfortunately, only [violet] can undo an IP ban.

Okay, I'm not sure what is or isn't up here... As far as I know, I haven't done any forum IP bans for any of the IPs that a forum IP scan shows. As forum admin, I can onlu IP ban from the forums, not the game.

My best guess is that somehow or other your entire IP range has been banned, likely an accidental casualty in blocking a serial rulebreaker from the site. The mods have no way to check site IP bans, so this is one that has to go up the line to the boss directly, since none of us 'green names' can do anything. I'll send word up the line to [violet], so hopefully we can get this figured out.

Sorry!

EDIT: Okay, I checked your nation's stats, and one of the IPs your nation is listed as accessing from has been IP banned from the site recently. If your ISP uses certain proxies for web access, that would be the most likely culprit. Another player has complained of the same problem. Awaiting word from the boss.

Yeah, the boss removed the ban because it was targetted poorly.

This is F.U.B.A.R.! I can't access NS at home due to this problem. I access this site through the computers at school though.
