I'm writing and will be presenting a speech on NS for my Fundamentals of Speech class at Millersville University next Friday, February 27, and I need some help.

I need some players to interview about the game, and I'd like to enlist the help of some of the moderators.

If you'd like to help, please e-mail me at skytowerpoet@lycos.com as soon as possible with your nation name, real name (I need it for it to be a valid, documented source) and e-mail address, with the answers to the following questions:

I don't think you're going to get a lot of mods to respond to your request if you're asking for our last names ;)

NationStates Speech Interview Questions For Moderators

Full Name (First and Last): John Ihavenolastname
How long have you been moderating NS? Uhm, you would ask that...since mayish I guess?
What is your moderator title? Senior Game Moderator
What are you duties as moderator? Interpret and enforce the NationStates site rules - both in-game and in-forum.
What is the biggest problem facing NS that the moderators deal with and wish was resolved? Hmmm...I wish we'd quit having players that come along simply to create trouble. I have no problems with players merely attempting to play properly, and thus asking about rules. My issues come from the long-time players asking continually for further 'clarification' and a line in the sand (knowing we wont give it to them) simply so that they can push the boundaries and/or find loopholes to exploit. Put simply: I just want people to PLAY NICE. Ya know, follow the 'golden rule' and all that.
How long did it take to train to become a moderator? If you're asking if I was in training before becoming a Mod, there was no pre-training. Training is continually on-going as our site code is continually tweaked for security and new features are added.
Do you like your moderation job? Sometimes. Sometimes I feel it is a burden too great to wish upon my enemies...but usually that's when there's quite a bit of players playing/posting with the pure intent of irritating other players and/or the Mods.

Yeah, I know, but for citing sources in the format I need to, I need first and last names to validate it. I know it's asking a lot from the mods, and thank-you to the ones that have replied.

I will be posting the graded syllabus when it's complete to show proof that I did give the speech, if that'll help reassuree everyone at there that I'm not just gaining this information to use against anyone.

Thanks!

Perhaps you should give an e-mail address for your school.
The mods could mail their details there for you c/o whoever your teacher is.
That way, the mods can be sure their details will be safe.

This Mod's name remains unknown to almost everyone, including most if not all the Moderation staff, hehe. I was rather hoping to keep it that way. Hmm . . . :?

Enodia was kind of enough to give me his personal details, so, if none of the other moderators wish to contribute for safety reasons, this is fine. I just needed some sort of soure material for my speech.

Myrth, that's a great idea. If any of the other mods are interested in contributing, just telegram me, and I'll give you my professor's e-mail address.

At this point, I do have enough to do my speech, but any additional information is always welcomed.

Thanks, again, everyone! :D

I understand completely. I do have enough, as I've stated in my above post, thank-you for considering it though. I do appreciate it, as I know it's a rather strange request.

I will be posting the grade, scanned from the syllabus, when I am done as verification that this was for my assignment for all on NS who contributed.

Thanks!

I'm not a mod, but in my opinion, giving out one's full name is crazed. Good luck on it though. Hope your speech goes well.

Unfortunately, to properly cite a source in MLA format, which I must, I need it for these responses to be a credited source and for myspeech to be credible to my audience.
