Founders banning new delegates.

After endorsing our man to delegate the founder pronounced that he alone was in control of who should be delegate and swiftly banned us all and sent us to the rejected realms. Is this allowed?

I'd say it would be. It is their region, you have to play by their rules. Sorry, but unless you own it, you have no control over what the founder does.

So how can you ever take control of the region when all the founder has to do is kick us all out?? We legally endorsed our guy and he was legally made delegate with un approval...This sux.

the founder is the person who created the region, and who owns the region.
he or she can kick out anyone he wants, for no reason at all.

but you can always create your own region ;)

A founder can do anything he likes with his region as Crazy Girl said. He can boot everyone out if he wants to. A delegate however has a lot more restrictions.

What do you mean..restrictions??

It says in the rules that it is part of the game..

Oh its part of the game allright. That doesnt mean people are going to just let you roll over them. Where would be the fun in that?
13-02-2004, 16:06
If I'm not mistaken, there is a protocol in place as to what to do if your region is invaded. Nowhere there was it indicated that the founder had the "power" to just boot the delegate chosen by the invading force.

Exactly my point!! If a delegate has been approved by the un then why does a founder have the right to ban him without following the correct protocol?

It would be more fun if the rules were consistant and clear.

Are you serious? Founded regions are rarely inveaded for this reason. There's a more in depth explanation but from the FAQ:
How do I manage my region?
The person who created a region is known as its "Founder," and can access a page called "Regional Control." This allows him or her to set the World Factbook Entry, password-protect the region (to make it invitation-only), and eject troublemakers. Regional Control is also available to UN Delegates, although the Founder can disable this.

Invaders by any measure of the stick are trouble makers, hence, Founders have no restrictions in booting them.

While it isn't specifically pointed out, generally invasions are held in regions without a founder (when there never was a founder recognized or when the existing founder has ceased to exist) or when an idle founder has left regional controls turned on.

You can still invade regions with just a sleeping founder (and no delegate controls) to deny the sitting delegate the chance to vote in the UN (like when you don't like their voting habbits), but that isn't done all that often AFAIK.

Because he has that right, the founder may ban/boot everyone from his region because it is his region.

Ok found a thread with an explicit quote from a mod saying the founder can eject who they like, just to finish discussion down that road once and for all.

The game is flawed!!

Max barry clearly states that it is within the rules to invade.
A few wimp mods however seem not to like that particular rule and make sure that invasion is next to impossible..

Whats up Max?? Cant get the help dude?

Ballotonia and Siswai Aman are correct.

Founders may eject any nation from their region at any time and for any reason (or, indeed, for no reason at all). This effectively grants Founders the de facto power to declare that their region shall not be susceptible to invasions.

Invaders won't be punished for attempting a legal invasion of such a region, but in such a region, invasions become completely moot.

The game is flawed!!

[violet] is Max Barry's first and most direct representative. She wrote the code to put Founders in the game and she, in consultation with Max, decided that Founders should have the legal authority to ban or unban whoever they like.

It's within the rules to invade (and that's why you haven't been deleted), but it's also within the rules for a Founder to decide NOT to play along.

There are a handful of regions that execute invasions daily and more who do so sporadically, there are even more regions dedicated to stopping these invaders so obviously it is still a part of the game.

If you cant figure out how they do it, do a little research on who they are and ask them. They might even tell you.
