Pre-ban?

Is there anyway to ban a person outside of your region? There is this person who comes in and post like every hour and leaves right away. She is pissing off everyone in my region and there is no way to stop her. I won't password my region, because it is counter-productive; but there has to be another way to deal with her. Thoughts?

I asked the same question several times via getting help and never got an answer.

You could hope to be on NS the next time she turns up, and ban her while she's in your region, but this sounds unlikely if it's a flame-and-run situation. And even if you did, people who are that dedicated to being annoying just come back under a new name.

It's a perpetual problem, to which passwording is the only certain option, and good lock screening any new applicants... she'll still sneak through a few times, unless you bar imigration altogether or only allow immigration by invitation.

Well I have only wanted to ban 2 people before for doing this. This one and one other who I wanted out of my region since Dec 28th, 2003. Then when we finally got options to ban and kick I waited till Early this month to finally refresh the moment he entered my region. It is all luck. I missed banning her today by 2 minutes.

No you cannot ban someone outside of your region but if she posts regional ads in your region you could report her to the mods.

they should make it so you can type the name of the nation straight into you ban list but i know it takes hard work to make things work so i am not trying to piss and moan but to just suggest an idea

There also ought to be a way to permaban somebody who repeatedly posts disruptive messages via puppets. Pretty much my entire regional ban list is (at least probably, IMHO) one person.

Spam, flames, or ads: file a Getting Help report. Make sure nobody else posts on the regional board until a Moderator sees it.

My posts can in no way be concieved to be spam (because they have a currently highly relevent political context), flame (because no one has been personally insulted) nor a regional ad and I'd like a moderator to explain what exactly is the problem.

If you are entering a region, posting, and then leaving, it could be construed as spam.

It would also appear that you do so often to the same region(s).

If I post and leave, surely it's fair since any attempt at all to stay would have resulted in my nation getting banned from the region? That's hardly a conducive situation for a fair discussion of issues that we've taken up with RedCommunist (and one or two others in USSR since they seem to have jumped on the bandwagon).

We haven't insulted nor posted reams of stuff - we posted three long discursives which minimised anything that was wiped off the USSR boards.

So what actually officially consitutes spam then?

Claire; you enter, post, and then leave. Could be spam. I am stating it as flaming though. Now not one or two people, but so far 10 people then myself have been offended by what you are saying; or are rather pissed about it. I asked you to stop and you didn't.

maybe that should tell you something...

So you dont figure that since they'd ban you, maybe you shouldnt be doing it?
