***MOD RESPONSE DESIRED, IF YOURE NOT A MOD PLEASE DONT SPECULATE. IF YOU KNOW THERE HAS BEEN A RULING ON THIS TELL ME SO, EVEN GIVE A LINK IF YOU CAN, BUT NO SPECULATING PLEASE!***

What is the approach to using evidence from off-site forums and websites in a mod investigation?

I was under the impression that it wasnt used, as it was easily falsifiable and the mods had no way of personally assuring its veracity.

If links are provided, when investigating, we may look at the off-site stuff, but whether or not we use that in the process of an investigation is iffy at best. Basically, off-site evidence is always taken with a grain of salt, if it gets used at all, because, as Siswai stated, it is easily falsifiable, and we have no way to verify its authenticity.

I will speculate if I feel inclined to do so.

Incorrect.

If a player posts a topic in "Moderation" and asks that ordinary players not speculate, then you will respect that. If a player posts a topic in "Moderation" and asks that ordinary players not respond at all, then you will respect that.
