question about region advertising

Is it legal to region advertise in any region? or only the spawning places?
(this is a purely hypothetical question)

I believe that it's legal to Advertize in the Pacifics, but I've heard it's illegal to adverize in the other spawn region (can't remember the name)

There's also a "Nations YellowPages" thread, I believe in Gameplay.

It is legal to advertise in The Pacifics (all of them) and The Rejected Realms, as long as you don't spam. My rule of thumb has always been, no more than 1 post per region (or player) every 12 hours (for the purposes of advertising).

Regional advertising anywhere's else (unless invited or involved with that region outside of the advertising {such as you're member, ex-member, etc.} ) without invitation (Either by the Founder, or delegate) is illegal.

Two questions then, Sal.
A) What about the nameless fifth spawn region?
-and-
B) What kind of punishment does region-hopping to advertize regions entail? (or also read--"Can I complain next time a advertizer comes to my region?)

Given that that rule is in virtually constant violation, is that a Getting Help spam request?

I don't recall seeing that rule in any of the stickies. Can it be added?

A) What nameless fifth spawn region? If you mean Lazarus, no.
B) Getting help page. But only really bother if it is consistant. Punishment is a warning, and like all other in game crimes, deletion if it continues after warning.

Another (unofficial) solution is to ask me to hang out in your region for a bit. This way the spam gets seen before it gets pushed off the board and I'll warn them. This was very successful in Europe and RR.

Which RR? Since it's OK to advertise in the Rejected Realms ...

Also, in my experiance the mods can delete the message off the regional board (although I'm not sure if it was just the mod that handled the request that does this, or if it's a regular thing).

The Rejected Realms. There were several nations posting advertising far more often than was legal.

We can delete messages if we need to, but why should we for advertising? We just warn the nation.

If it's really window-breaking, we'll delete it. For example, posts with AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA's stretching out 4 feet wide or blank lines stretching down as long as Marilyn Monroe's legs.

"No" meaning you can or can't?
Sorry.

I usualy dont mind it most of the time however if EP residents are talking and a Ad gets posted while they are talking, I consider it the same as Telemarketing. a bothersome annoyance, and will usually follow it up with the EP message. or a comment about the region or group doing the ad.

as for ads in the EP, we have a regional Yellow pages on the offisite forum and I prefer folks to post their ads there so that they can be preused by naitons looking at the regional forum. however posts for advertisment in places other than the Yellow pages forum will get your message deleted.

Meaning ads are not permitted.
