I would tend to disagree, since I'm generally very anti-censorship... Why can't he use a swastika? He's roleplaying a nazi regime, so the flag is very fitting. Or can't he be a fascist regime either?

Yes, and the word of [violet] is the ultimate word for NS. I don't plan to use the symbol anyways. It just disheartens me to know that such hatred still exists in the world and that it ruins things that were once sacred.

I'm just curious, is the swastika banned because it's illegal to display them in some countries (specifically Germany) or is it simply because people find it offensive. If it's the second reason, then why is the SS symbol allowed to be displayed, I'd think that the symbol of the murderous SS would cause alot more grief then the run of the mill swastika which exists in nearly every ancient culture as a positive symbol (which is why he ripped it off for his own personal megalomania).

I understand no one sees the swastika as anything more then a symbol of hate, but wouldn't the SS be up there as well? I'm not making a case to BAN the SS symbol mind you, I personally don't care what idiocy a person wants to brand themself as, I'm simply curious

My theory has always been that the instant any group in society identifies itself with a symbol, that symbol is in danger of being linked to something negative.

Fact: Admin on this site have made the policy close on a year ago that swastikas were banned but did not make the same judgement in relation to Communist-based insignia.

Fact: Admin, moderators and players have frequently explained that this is an exceedingly dead horse to flog. Regardless of whether the decision is unfair, morally inconsistent or whatever, it's not going to be overturned no matter how many times people raise the same argument (and that one has been raised frequently).

This has been discussed and [violet] said that only the Swastika was getting banned since it was directly associated with (i.e. born out of, and by born I mean that it was bastardized by) an evil group while the sickle and hammer was used by many, not all of whom were bad. In general, more people are going to be offended by the swastika then the sickle and hammer because it is a more universally identified as a symbol of Nazi's. I will reiterate that all valid points were brought up and the decision still stands.
