Flaming

Look at silly mountain walks post, it was unwarrented flaming.

EU, unquestionably. Quality of life is better, general education standards are higher, there's more culture, I can drive faster, food is praised by quality rather than quantity, Europeans are less frightened by foreigners than most Americans are, when I read a European newspaper I get reports about what is happening in the world (rather than what is happening in America) and if I break my leg, the hospital staff look at my leg before they look at my credit card.

Euros don't lock people up because the President of the EU says they are "bad people", then deny them access to the legal process, tear up the Geneva Convention and make them face tribunals headed by Government representatives, rather than independant judges.

Europeans seem to be more open to new ideas and happier to debate democracy than the average American is - where criticism of any current President is regarded as a slur on the office of President, leading to an invitation to discuss the matter "outside".

EU folks seem to have open and questioning minds, while US people get confused and angry when their view of the world is challenged.

As I work in both the EU and the US, yet live in neither, I daresay that the above is just a view from outside, so pay no attention.

It's odd, Most Europeans who moved to the USA say we are more open to new ideas.

You are in a Bubble.

Wow what a poor answer on a good quote. Shows your brain capacity.
mmm. I'll answer the same, so you'll understand (not easy to talk with the worlds only living brain donnor) " Most US that moved and work in the EU say we are more open to new ideas and more intelligent".
Wow, the level of debate is rising with the donnor. (Finding clients? Guess not because your marketing is poor)

You have been modalerted for flaming. Please post again when you can make a post without flames.

Sorry boy, modalerts don't work anymore. I see you are new, don't try to push people in the flaming corner when your opinions are radical enough to be seen as flaming for others, you selfish b***. I think modalert is something that only belongs to moderators, for the moment you are not one of those respected people....

This can also be seen as flaming or atleast Flamebait.

Dear moderators, I answered the person in the same way, his anti EU thoughts are racism in my eyes.
My grandfather died in WWII fighting against fascism and for freedom of speech, this is tuching me as a person in my opinion,, he did not die to see that kind of rubbish. When I see someone that attacks my friends on NS, I see a reason to defend them regarding there nationality with a joke, not with rasicm.

I' ve debated lots of time with people on many issues, serious debates and hard ones. For example my post and discussions with Womblingdon (Zionism, Israel, Palestine and so on). We changed a lot of ideas and even fought toghether revisionism.
I already told that the person spoken of is not a moderator and that he can not use modalerts for his own views. But appearently , a waste of time.

Eh, I wouldn't call this flaming. He's being rude, but not flaming. Ask him to nicely stop (If it's not nice, then it'll turn into a flame war), and then ignore each other.

Note: Moderators are here to deal with players who are abusive or cheat -- not to resolve arguments. You have to do that yourself.

Well, you feel attacked? The guys EU bashing is reaching rascism. He blocks 30 lines well intended posts from others (not me) with 1 bashing line! His only purpous is blocking the discussion because he is in lack of arguments.

What EU bashing and racism? You are flaming here, knock it off.

On a related note, the "Howard Dean is a Man of the People" thread in General has degenerated into a flame thread as well. Can we lock it? And maybe take a look at that "Bill Clinton is the greatest President ever?" (or something like that) while you're at it?

Sorry to intrude on this discussion, but I didn't think my request warranted a thread of its own.

Donovans answer on page 9 (US-EU) on the the post from Portser Island is a first try to interupt a serious discussion, this is not NS worthy, people argue and then some kind of insulter that is not involved posts 1 agressive line.

Page 10, Donovans first answeron Byzanthine.........

A youngster that rings the bell when he's in lack of arguments (watch the lengt of his posts and the value in the debate, pure agressivnes) and reminds me of the Count_Dick_la posts.
I think (not the only one) that Count D and Donovan are the same person.

Hey guys, settle down. This isn't a place for debate. Let's be civil about this, instead of yelling, "Well he started it!" back and forth.

I think this just needs to be dropped. We aren't going to get anywhere with this, and so far it looks like you've only pissed each other off.

Walk away and don't talk to each other again.

No probs but the count keeps interfering under his real name in serious debates withouth adding something, the only thing he can do are his agressive one liners (never saw something valuable). Those guys really break debates and when there intellectual weight is in the ballance they cry for help, shouting that the ones they attack (just for their own pleasure by blocking and turning the debate into something else) have the courage too show them the way out.

Your making no sense. For obvious reasons, I will no longer acknowledge you on any level.

BTW, I am not Count D!

Walks, come on now. That was uncalled for. What part about ignoring him don't you get?

Thread resolved. If it's left open, it'll turn into an argument. uLock?
11-01-2004, 07:05
That is the most wise dissision you made today.

Try to debate with arguments and don't try to destroy god discussions, lot's of people like them, stay away with the one liners in serious topics please. your alias tried to do the same. Or fight a debate on a shouting or non serious topic.

Off course you are right. For the moment I am on the bench. I would try the same words like you do, but I don't like it when this kind of topicdestroyers arrive.

BTW, this takes time, pitty, would haved like to debate further about the history...

All the best and thanks for the calming down words.

Eh, I was going to see the evindence and say who was wrong or whatever, but maybe just ignoring each other would be the best thing to do.

And you're welcome.
