Possible? Yeah, any straight ascii will work. Permissable? Let me redirect this thread to moderation for that.

then why would it not be permissible it would be a good thing for those who want to play the spy game.

I'm just saying that because a ruling has not been made yet. I know (and enjoy) the spy game. Just give a bit to work in through the system and discuss it. I suspect that it will be ruled legal, but let us chat and think abit first? There are often unforseen side effects of rulings, and we try to figure them out ahead of time.

Well...

This really isn't all that different than typing messages in a language we don't understand. Also, this fits well with the theme of the game, namely the fact that political intrigue sometimes requires secure communications.

So, yeah, it's fine with me. Of course, I prefer being able to read regional messages, but we won't punish you for using a code.

I believe that we support unicode (though I'm not positive), but we do not allow you to shift fonts. Therefor I recomment that you restrict yourself to standard ASCII. All necessary encryption can be done that way.

what if i copy paste on to the messaging boards then could i use a new font?
The Most Glorious Hack
10-01-2004, 08:22
That would require changing the code to support the font.

how could a mod tell if someone flamed in code?

how could a mod tell if someone flamed in code?Surely if someone wanted to flame you they'd want you to be able to read it, so they wouldnt do it in code?
10-01-2004, 12:11
and it doesnt have to be regional it can be TM's as well

It doesn't even have to be onsite. It can be done offsite as well. Create an intelligence agency email or something. You can send pretty much anything, and it'd be pretty secure.

but for some that may be to much runaround for something so simple.

So if we type the ASCII values on message boards, it will be converted then Sal?

The entity names, or the actual hex number?

I was wondering 'bout that as when I just placed the actual character, on one board it didnt't work, instead producing a"?"

If you can type it into a text box, it will probably display decently on the other end.

It didn't work for me. At least not with the thin space. Will the codes translate?
