How does a founder get appointed?

I know you have spoken about this before, but I don't know the prosedure. I've never delt with this before. Can you help me?

Only the person who actually started the region can be the founder. No founders are appointed by the mods. If your region doesn't have a founder, then the only suggestion I can make is that you get all the people from your region to leave it and then re-create it in doing so you will become the founder. There is no other way. Or create a new region and all move to it.

In a related note, does it take one day to delete the region, much like it takes a day to secure the endorsements for a delegate, etc?
Yep. Empty regions are deleted at the game update.
At the minor update isn't it?

This was long ago. There was a period where Founders were appointed by the mods. It was announced that this period was going to be a finite length of time.
