One UN Nation allowed per entire school?
It certainly seems that way. I log on today to find my nation "Kalohen" deleted, and what an extremely depressing and day ruining thing. This game was a lot of fun, and I put a lot of time into that nation, it was my main one, and my UN one. But aparently the software deletes everybody who goes to the same school. I guess it was a mistake inviting others into the game, I'll make sure not to reccomend it to anyone in the future.
You don't have the ability to recognize these kind of things, so you just delete people's hard work. With that logic, anyone who uses some sort of network, regardless of how many hundreds of computers on it, is blacklisted as a cheater.
Is there anyway to restore a deleted nation, because it's really a bummer that I got screwed out of it.
Actually, this is not quite the same issue but I experienced much the same thing. Both myself and my friend, who ran a nation called Leo Tolstoy XVIII, logged in at school. We were both banned from the UN, and despite both of us posting about this, and talking to Mods, we remained banned. He has now left, yet I still cannot join the UN, and still cannot get an answer from the Mods. So perhaps it was just overlooked, but in any case, its still a problem.
Lahkeno, I doubt your nation would be deleted just for multiple UN-ing anyway. Its usually a warning and only puppets get killed. Talk to the Mods and it should be resurrected.
There are a couple of idiots at my school (just like every other school) who joined just for the purpose of flaming and getting deleted. Could the fact that we're on the same IP have anything to do with it?

Get over it, it's not going to change.

My school hasn't had that problem yet, and we have probably more than 50 NSers, most in the UN. I know that some are touble, too, but they're gone now. (TG found 'em).
Somehow, only the troublemakers were deleted.
Get over it, it's not going to change.
And how would you know? Its easy to resurrect a nation if you talk to the Mods about it, and the deletion was due to a generic reason. Trust me, it should be overturned.

The mods aren't going to ressurect your nation. There's no way to prove you aren't a UN-multi or that there's multiple people at the same school using NationStates. This has been ruled on many, many times. You won't get your nation back, it's very hard to get a nation back to begin with even if it was accidentally deleted.

Untrue. At one point, I was in the UN, and so was my Dad. Nothing was deleted. Now both my sister and I are playing the game, and we both have a nation in the UN with no problems.

While I agree that this situation has happened before and similar rulings have been made in the past, the only way to find out if it can be resurrected is if you inquire about it with the mods, it cant get any worse so you might as well ask...

Yeah, ask the mods in a seperate topic. Explain the situation, but don't demand that your nation be given back, because it most definately won't in that case. Good luck.

Apparently the system is now quite good at distinguishing from LANs.
A game mod can check the IP of the deleted nation, chances are, if the hostname resolves to a .edu you may be given another chance.
You'll have to wait for a game mod to check in and answer this for you though.

At my school, we have a couple carts of laptops that circulate among classes for research essays etc.. anyway, each person is always supposed to take the same laptop. anyway, only the gifted class has knowledge of NS and there are about 7 people who are using the laptops to acess NS. We have never come across a problem so far, but as the number of UN nations increases, it will be interesting to see what happens. I've posted a warning about this in my region, which is a home to all of the people aat my school on NS
Unfortunately, that is the best system they have so far, and the only option. I do wish it was better too, and some day it might be, but for now it's all ns's got. So just avoid schools.

Hmm...I've reviewed the cheat scan and other evidence, and I have to say that it's quite an unusual school that's open on Dec 26...

Neut, my school is closed December 12th through January 13th. The computer labs, however, are open.
Maybe it's the same there?

So you're saying that there are students getting online at school on Dec 26th?
Ok...um...that still doesnt explain the less than 1 min between login times...
Well, I guess the log in times are probably damning enough. Anyway, I assume that the mods can determine whether an IP is operating from a school address, right? I thought that I had seen other people ask this very same question before and a mod stated that it can be determined whether an IP is from a school or not, at least in some cases.
I too find it odd that someone would go on a school computer on December 26. My school's computer labs were closed, but I guess some other schools are different.

They have other methods of detecting cheaters besides simple IP scans. My roommate and I both ran seperate UN nations for several months on the same computer without either of us ever getting so much as a warning. He left the UN recently, so it's not an issue anymore, but it just shows you that there must have been something else in your case that set off the mods' alarm, because they don't just tank people for having the same IP address.

Well then. lol.
Forget I said anything.
And yeah. My schools labs are open. I cannot imagine why, but they are...
