Suggestion: Hunter-killer Modlets

Yet another suggestion: Hunter-killer modlets
Hunter-killer modlets would essentially be the weakest of the weak, not even forum mods. Their only purpose would be to 'mark' threads with trolling/baiting/flaming, i.e. they would highlight a thread so the real mods would know to look there and give out their terrible judgement.
This would simply mean that the mods would not have to scan as many threads to look for illegal activities--these slave modlets would work for them. Real mods would glance down the page of threads looking for, say, threads with titles in red, or threads with some icon next to them.
Now I need input and a better name for the modlets.

We already do this, just without all the fancy colors and symbols. There is a select group of people (Myself included) that scan the forums for anything bad. When found, we post the link in the mod forum and let a mod lock it.

Thank you Bas-
Is this the 'mod squad' that I keep hearing about?

No, many people call us "Mod Wannabes".
Although having a group doing only this might be a good idea, let's see what the brass have to say about it.

'Mid Wanabes'?
For trying to make the game run smoothly?

There are different kinds of Mod wannabes. The n00bish ones and the more experienced ones. The n00bish ones are often a pain, since they don't know the rules and often end up giving bad advice. So most Mod Wannabes are hated as a cause.

Us?
You are the only one of us who I have heard called a "mod wannabe", and that was by a mod wannabe.
Real mod wannabes are blatantly obvious.
They post "helpful" comments and "original" suggestions in short bursts (rarely more than one or two bursts at that), while brownosing the mods, and then disapear entirely again, or they say "how do I become a mod" "or I would be a great mod" with a half-dozen posts to their name, and then flame the mods when they say "no".

What exactly would be involved in giving the modlings the ability to highlight thread titles or whatever? Im not familiar with forum mod powers so is there a way to seperate this ability from all the other stuff a mod can do? ie, that they could only highlight, not lock, delete anything.
If it could be done then yeah, I like the idea, it would be giving legitaimacy and recognition to the people who offer their services to the forum anyway, as presumably it would be they who would receive the first places.
edit: spelling mistakes . . . .

Well anyway. It would mean messing with the phpBB Forum stuff. It is easier if people post a link and a brief description in Moderation.

I am unfamiliar with phpBB, so I don't know how much work that needs (or if it's even possible)....
The idea came from my proofreading my peers papers (something I must do all to often). Sometimes, when they have particular questions, they do one of two things. They
Write the page/line positions of the problems; or
mark off the individual problems with red
I prefer the latter greatly. As I was unfamilir with the phpBB problems, I thought that you would find scrolling down the page to see certain flagged threads instead of being presented with a page of links to follow.
Whatever, NS isn't the same as proofreading papers.

This thread reminds me that I haven't paid a visit to the UN forum since I left for NYC on Saturday morning....
I usually take it upon myself to post ModAlerts from that forum, given that I think I'm the only regular.

Why July 3?
That was when I was founded, and it led to about a month of spam, flame, flamebait, and mod-harrassment by yours truly.
I've already had my NS birthday (and so has my region) but I'm only famous in Wysteria.... :(
