Regional Control
Hello,
I founded a region last year called Eagleland. This was before the regional controls were established, and thus I have no control of my region. I remember reading a thread a little while ago telling people how to gain control of their region if they did not have regional controls, however it seems to have dissapeared. Is it possible to still get regional controls if you do not have them?
By the way, it says in our UN factbook entry that I am the founder of the region. Our UN delegate put it there. We used to have seven nations but due to an influx in people we now have thirty.

Mods normally don't appoint founders unless the region has been griefed or is in danger your region seems fine though
Premade "Make Me Founder" response:
The mods no longer accept requests to be made founder of a region on the basis that you have had plenty of time to ask since they first said they'd do this.
If you still want to be a founder, then fo this:
1) Become delegate of the region
2) Politely ask (DO NOT EJECT) the nations of the region to leave. Once again: DO NOT EJECT ANYONE!
3) Now that that's been said, read the quote from Neut on the subject.*
4) Password the region and leave it.
5) Refound it at the next update, when the region is deleted.
Please note: if someone else re-founds the region first, then there is nothing you can do about it (founding a region is a perfectly legal act) so make sure you are prepared to found it right after the update.

Neutered Sputniks said: Ejecting 2-3 nations out of a region of 10-12 is a little much - that usually means they're not all in agreement of who should be the founder, not always, but it's a good indicator. By extrapolation, we could also say that kicking 10 nations out of a region of 50 is a little much, however, 10 nations out of a region the size of Europe is hardly a drop in the bucket when it comes to such a thing as this.
It also depends on how many of those nations are a single player's. If it is public knowledge that I have 10 nations in a region of 50, and I'm the only dissenting player, ejecting my 10 nations is really more like ejecting 1 (unless of course, those other 40 nations are split among 3-4 players). Get the idea?[/quote]
Hope this response helped ;)

Alright, thanks. The reason I waited so long was when the original thread was up, there was a certain restriction on the size of your region -- our region had, at one point, 70 nations in it, however when the thread was up we were down to about 12 due to most people dropping out of nationstates. It's not an enormous deal :P
Then again, the people that posted don't know for sure.. I would wait for a mod's call on this one.
Alright, whatever works :P

Naleth is correct in all details with the following possible exception:
"Life is a suicide mission"
I am inclined to disagree with this. However, since this is a matter of opinion and is not germaine to a discussion of NationStates rules, I will not press this matter further.

Cog, Naleth is right. Life is one long suicide mission... It's not like you'll actually be able to complete the mission.
As for appointing founders, we'll do it for old OLD regions, but you MUST prove that you're the founder, not just who the people elected to be the founder.

If you have the region clear out, be warned, especially if the region has a good name or a history, the chances of it being taken over by a new founder could be high. I've snatched a few good ones myself, unaware that they might be trying to do this. Of course, I was nice enough to let the region die a second time so the legitimate founder could form the region. Not everyone is.

Well it's hardly a mission. If so, we ate our instructions before we read them. Damn that tasty rice paper.

Most missions dont give specific instructions...they just tell you what to do. In other words: "Your mission, whether you choose to accept it or not, is to live." See, there's no way to complete that mission. Everyone dies sooner or later.

that assuming that our mission is to live.
it could be to spawn a few offspring, eat beef or name all the names of God. Who the hell knows?
Anyway, back on track, I can get our UN delegate and some of our older members to vouch for me about me founding the region. I'll get them to post in this topic.

Well live is a difficult term, maybe we completed that mission by just being alive at all. "Your mission, whether you choose to accept it or not, is to live forever" is a bit tougher.
Our mission is probably something like being nice to people or even more likely dissipating energy or such.
I was the one who came up with the idea of Nogero's founding a region with our specific interest waaay back last year (or sometime immediately after), so a) I can definitely vouch that he's the founder and b) it's quite an old region (so old I quit around June and only got resurrected a few days ago).
If that helps any.
And I'm the delegate from Eagleland. Nogero's the founder of the region, sure enough. :)
If you'd like more people, I can get more people. However, Kirlonia and Amzbekistan have been around since the start (Well, more Amzbekistan than Kirlonia due to Kirlonia being recently revived.)
Eagleland... An Earthbound reference, I presume?
Yep. Our region is for starmen.net, a large earthbound site :)

I might have been in Eagleland tonight. If I was not, then I saw when it updated and I'll likely be there on another night.

I remember Eagleland updated around 5:34AM Eastern. Not to say this it will again at that exact time.
