Statute of Limitations of Griefing?

Is there a statute of limitations on griefings, where is a certain amount of time has passed, no moderator actions can be taken? The reason I ask this is because I wanted to write a summary of a region's history in the "A little history of everything" thread, and this certian region got away with a griefing incident months and months back (may I believe).

I don't want to reveal the name until I have an answer.

First, this belongs in moderation.

Second, I would guess that if we cannot find evidence of griefing (beyond your history) we won't prosecute it.

you know that is a realy good point, a Statuet of limitations really should be in effect for griefings, I would say 30 days or so.

I dunno. . .

I recently found evidence of a month old griefing and reported it (it seemed that they had used UN multis to grief a region, along with one non-UN nation, and were then letting the UN nations die, leaving one nation in a passworded region), although the evidence was partially lost before it was dealt with (it still hasn't been, and as this wasn't the first time that this region has done something like this, its doings are common knowledge, but usually unprovable, I'm rather annoyed) , if I had discovered it earlier, it would likely have come just outside of the statute of limitations (the griefing was about a month old when I discovered it).

I think that the policy should be "as long as there is evidence", as Salusa mentioned.

Moderation has to do with anything requiring a Mod response.

Technical: How things work right?

In regards to the technical aspects of the game, yes.

Just my opinion, but I'm not sure bragging rights for gettign away with greifing is a good idea.

They'll never give a statue of limitations. Can you imagine the flame baiting smug crowing of griefers after thirty days?

Keep it vague, keep it flexible.
