93 minutes ago The Gay Rejected Realms Delegate of Kanndarrinn No! I suck! After being delegate for 6 months, I am bored and don't give a f---!
35 minutes ago The United States of Melicanium He's been delegate longer than that I think. And just two days ago he asked us what we thought he should vote on the current resolution. So he's making the effort, but we're not responding. Also, I would love to know how you survived so long without someone reporting your name...It's against the rules to impersonate another player.
31 minutes ago The Republic of RR girl i think kandarin waits till the last moment to vote, so everyone can give his or her opinion on the matter first..
5 minutes ago The Jingoistic States of Amnesiah It is not against the rules to impersonate a player. It is against the rules to use impersonated player's names to dicredit a player. So as long as he behaves, he will not be punished.
4 minutes ago The United States of Melicanium So, what he posted is behaving? I don't think so...
2 minutes ago The Jingoistic States of Amnesiah No, it wasn't, but maybe he doesn't have a clue about what he is doing. Some people aren't that smart, so give him some time .
2 minutes ago The Republic of RR girl it is against the rules to impersonate another player..
1 minute ago The Kingdom of Lies Hell I belive it is WRONG to impersanate another play. He is trying to live your delegate down. I belive that is wrong completley.
Seconds ago The Jingoistic States of Amnesiah It is not against the rules, I am very sure of that. Sorry, can't dig up a mod quote now :(
Seconds ago The United States of Melicanium Oh, yes, who was right? Uh huh, uh huh, uh huh, uh huh, uh huh...

Wow, how terribly childish of me. Sorry guys.

as you can see, we had a little discussion about this in the RR (till the server started to act up).
siah says it's okay to impersonate another player, as long as you behave, and i think, it's not allowed at all.
can anyone here give us the answer?

and i'm pretty sure it's been asked before, but i can't look it up without the keyword search..

I think if the impersonation is meant to be annoying and insulting it is illegal....

otherwise it's ok

I do believe this (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=86909) was the last time impersonation came up.

It seems like it's perfectly acceptable to impersonate someone... referring to that other thread, I gotta say, I saw a bunch of mini-mes who were not "behaving themselves," and they definitely didn't get deleted.

This might be a cheap shot on an ex-nation who I absolutely revile, but I'll make it anyway:

He claimed (under another name) that by making posts like this he was "helping people". Hearing him quote rules, most of which are accurate (give credit where credit is due), really drives me insane.

General rule on impersonations is that it's OK as long as it's not to the defammation of a player. In other words, I could impersonate Kandarin there to gain intelligence. However, the instant I start harrassing Kandarin or begin to defame his character, it's gone too far.

The only exceptions being the Moderators - for somewhat (I hope) obvious reasons. Moderators are not to be closely impersonated as it can (and has in the past) cause(d) confusion.

Kanndarinn, please can you try to use recognisable English rather than ebonics on this forum at least? It makes life so much easier when we don't need to translate.
