Wow..how is everybody today?..well mods are quite the power abusers don't you think?..i come on and all of a sudden all my friends and i were kicked from the un. Well as usual, if you don't bow to the mods, they feel afraid and decide to delete you, or kick you from the un. Well im assuming their gonna delete this forum..or delete me, because they cant stand to see how many people actully hate them. It's quite a large amount. Because i have recieved many telegrams, from leaders of regions that completely agree with my posts in the past. And it's more than a couple hundred, more like a couple thousand. And im guessing alot of people wont respond to this forum, (if it doesnt get deleted) because most are afraid of the mods...and wont speak out what they really think. So I'm asking that all nations and/or regions stop being afraid and really say how you feel..and that mods don't delete me or this forum, to see what happens.
Also, mods should do alittle research if there gonna delete or kick someone..and also when you delete people for offensive names or anything..shouldn't you ask other people other than your "elite" group. I mean sure your all probly like close to 40, but mabye not everyone thinks its offensive. you shouldnt be able to make the call for thousands of people...your not that powerful.

You deleted probly about 10 nations total of my friends,..when no rule was ever broken, and then we all get kicked from the un, once again no rule broken. None of us had more than one in the U.N. and if its because we log on our names at our friends houses..then thats just stupid. Just because none of you mods ever had any friends, doesnt give you the right to just destory those who do. Most are still young..we still have a chance to make friends, don't take that away from us.
There are many other reasons why i dislike these 40 year olds..but this is probly gonna get deleted..because they will get afraid...so im not gonna write anymore.

I don't think they abuse their powers. See, their JOB, as moderators, is to stop rulebreaking and try to curb such things as foul language and flaming. So really, as long as you avoid those things (they are generally forgiving if you slip up on the first one), you have nothing to fear from them.

This is a ridiculous accusation. First of all, to my knowledge, none of the Mods are 40 years old. And who cares if they were? They're just people like you and me, and personally I've never considered them otherwise. When you throw things into your post stating how sure you are Moderators of this site don't have any friends, it really doesn't shock me that you also exhibited behaviors bad enough to get your nations deleted. That is just immaturely insulting someone you don't even know.

You should have read the FAQ about NS before you started logging in at your friends' houses (if that's even truly the case here). Rules are rules, and this site is a privilege, not a right. Don't play it of you don't want to follow the rules like the rest of us. But seriously, Mods are just people too, and it's irritating that you add personal insults to a thread like this. They've volunteered their time to make sure this site runs smoothly--so we can all have fun with it.

Perhaps you should go and look for some of the other numerous 'mods abuse their power' threads here and see how they turned out...

i think panzism makes a good point. mods have erased over 5 of my nations for no good reason. they take too much for granted and take too much abuse to their power. they should slow down, and actually learn about the nations they're deleting, because a lot of times its not for a fair reason. they should be ashamed of theirselves for destroying innocent nations. they should be stopped from abusing their powers.

well, they could just look into it more..rather than deleting anyone they feel like..and also..sorry no puppet voting that i know of.

oh and also..before anyone starts saying all the panzi names are mine..they arent. Its a group me and my friends have.. so..im not the only one typin and voting. So..just so no one can say this isnt fair..or im the only one votin yes and stuff.

I know most of the mods personally, and I can say that none of the ones whom I know would ever intentionally abuse their powers. They may get a bit stressed at times, but they hasten to remedy mistaks if they make them.

As for those whom I have never met, I've seen them around and they are just as fair as those whom I have.

I agree with Qaaol. Mods are just people like you and I, and every one I consider a friend or have spoken to are very friendly and try hard to be as fair and helpful as possible at all times. Lord knows they've helped me out a few times.

The mods will not harm any player who does not break rules. Case in point:

this post is dedicated to the federal union... i said that the panzis are a group of friends not just one person, and i m one of them. the mods have destroyed our UN memberships many times, and are getting annoyin. they deleted me for no reason, they just believed watever sumone told em. i never did wat he said. panzis unite tho and make a strong group.

I have never broken a rule either..i dont know why everyone always thinks that they are all my nations..you people are crazy..just because we have similar names..doesnt mean there all me..if you want you can talk to us all seperately. Were all differnet people infact..i think 3..are on msn right now.

I'm not saying that we should ban mods.im saying they should back off..and only come when asked for..or in serious problems. but i mean they went and moved into tyranttopia..ok the region that i was at war with..and we were probly the among the smallest regions, but yet a mod of course has to come. And the people of tyranttopia even outnumbered us..and yet they still come and punish me and my followers.

Also wars, and choas and things are fun. There should be certain things, such as regions were it is illegal to attack, and some where you can attack whenever you want. It makes no sense, when mods get involved in little harmless conflicts...who cares if some people get kicked from a region or taken over..as i have said before wouldnt that make anyone just try harder..and make it ten times more fun..

Just thought I'd post here as I am the "power abuser" in question.

On Dec 3rd, I learned of a griefing invasion of the region TyrantTopia. As per standard procedure, I started an investigation. After determining that the region had indeed been griefed (that's the easy part), I unlocked the region, and moved a puppet (The Most Glorious Modified Puppet Nation of Zombi-men) in and made it a temporary Founder, to keep the region from auto-deleting. I then started and investigation to see if the invading Delegate was a multi, or not. Again, as part of SOP.

I've got a copy of the evidence that was turned up by my cheat-scan, which turned up pages of links between nations suspected nations. Again, following SOP, the offenders were deleted.

I would like the players to remember that some of the deletions would have happened regardless of the cheat scan, as griefing a region is a deletable offence. The others were deleted as part of the general cleanup. Non-UN nations were not deleted, and nations that were part of the ring but not connected to the griefing invasion were simply ejected, as opposed to being deleted, which was me being nice.

Furthermore, after I performed my duties, the offender brought a non-UN nation into the region and started to flame me. He also created a pair of nations to bother me with, namely: "Moderators abuse power" and "Moderators should die". As can be attested to by Chibi chibi, I did not delete these nations. I let them vent, occationally responded, and eventually got sick of it, and ejected them from the region. They have since deleted, but not by my hand.

I think it's pretty obvious that this was not a case of my abusing power, but rather the case of someone who was either A) caught and is bitching about it; or B) honestly innocent of multi'ing, but unable to accept the limitations of the cheat-scan, and the fact that griefing will get you deleted.

Against my better judgment, I'm unlocking this topic in case Panzi wants to respond rationally to the points I've made. If not, well, I can always relock it.

well, being the one who reported the griefing, and also the puppetmaster of chibi chibi, i can say what hack is telling here, is the truth..
well, about the griefing and those 2 annoying nations anyway, can't do any cheatscans ;)

This sounds a lot like you hear from people on trial or in prisons.. "I'm innocent".. "I've been framed".. "It was an evil conspiracy".. Because we mods have nothing better to do with our time then delete nations on a whim because there are just so many to choose from who we don't have a clue who they are and therefore we MUST have some evil grudge against them. C'mon.. the "I didn't do any thing wrong" threads are so old and usually only end up making the poster look foolish instead of being like 99% of the players on Nationstates who seem to avoid any conflict with the mods at all.. know why? Because they can follow simple rules. It's really that simple!

everyone here knows that this story is bs just forget it and move on if you really want to be in the UN get a new nation and follow the rules next time

the problem is that for decisions they should need more informations....

what you dont understand is that moderators actually have a lot of info on everyone every time u log in it records you IP address and such as cheaters will log in at all there UN nations with the same time which sets off the cheat scans and gets your nations kicked out people think that just because some idiot reports them that they got kicked out there wrong the report just makes the mods look at the nation and cheat scans the nation then they get ejected. People just like u and the other that cry that it was me and my friends on the same computer is nothing but crap look through the other pages and check out how many people have said the same story if you come up with something more orginal then more people might support u but the mods do a great job and i am sure it is hard on them to have to listen to idiots making cock and bull story everyday plus the mods are only human every human will make a mistake but should i have a big long debate everytime u make a mistake the u need t oshut up and just play and learn a lesson dont break any rules just have fun

OK, this has gone on long enough. The thread was locked previously and nobody's gaining anything by having it unlocked. Therefore, it will return to being locked.

Important Points Coming out of this Thread
1. Panzizm and friends, you need to realise that in all but the most exceptional of cases, the rules governing what is and is not griefing are completely cut and dried. They are readily available and ignorance of them does not constitute a good excuse to grief. You broke the rules and, as Hack quite rightly pointed out, griefing in itself is a delete-able offence, regardless of whether or not you were all multis.

2. If you don't want to be accused of being multis, then don't access your UN nations from your friends' computers. Simple solution to a simple problem, and one you should be able to uphold. (Side note to others: I am giving the player/s the benefit of the doubt and believing that they are separate individuals). As has been said before, we don't have the power to physically see which person has logged on as which nation, so we assume the worst. If you don't want us to assume the worst, don't give us reason to do so.

3. If you don't want to be accused of "puppeting" (using puppets to support your argument), then perhaps you might want to create nations with dissimilar names. I'm not trying to stifle your creativity here, but nations with names like "Panzizm" and "Panzi Power" will almost always look like puppets, even if they're controlled by people on the opposite sides of the world.

4. This one goes for everyone: Don't even think about complaining that we need more evidence to call you for multi-ing, griefing or anything else. Trust me on this one, we have an ever-increasing number of ways to check what's going on in the game and many of these ways are almost foolproof. What I mean when I say that is that they can tell the difference between "my friends and I log on to our nations at the same computer", "I am using a school computer lab" and "I am a multi". I'm not going to go into this any further, partly because I don't fully understand the nuts and bolts behind it (although I understand the results), and also partly because that's our business and not yours.
