Exuse me for asking... but did Beeker just get deleted? The only warning I've seen him get was in relation to the 'Invasion' a few weeks back... which I had hoped was still a topic for debate, given as a few people have written to the admin e-mail to request a reversal of the decision?

Yes, he was deleted. The Mods and Admin discussed the problems we've had with Beeker and decided that he has worn out his welcome on this site. As he has a dial-up account, we cannot impose an IP ban. Therefore, any nations he creates will be deleted on sight.

No dis-respect intended... but may we ask what it was that triggered this debate? (I'm not suggesting for a second he hasn't deserved it in the past, or that he's a saint!!)

Wow, it's that serious!

The decision was reached regarding past infractions. It just took the squad awhile to discuss it and come to a consensus. (Over a month, actually.)

Beeker's last deletion is what caused the discussion. It was only just recently resolved with any finality.

Was he still causing problems? I thought he'd been very good recently.

(though i don't read all the threads obviously)

Could you please define these "Problems"?

Ok, just my devalued 2c, but it seems that the main reason Beeks got deleted is just for pissing off the mods. Very few NSers wanted him gone. The mods usually do a wonderful job, and I am usually incredibly supportive of them, but the whole Beeks issue has really cast a dark cloud on the mods.

That's probably the reason why they deleted him.

So, you dont think a forum ban for flaming spam, followed by the deletion of not one, but two nations for continued flaming, along with beginning a spam invasion of a forum means a player is really a bad guy...as Jessica Rabbit argued about herself: he's "just drawn that way"?

I'm not sure who that's aimed at, but I'll respond.

It's not my place to say whether it's right or wrong to delete him.. I'm just mourning the fact that (aside from the odd rant!!), he's a fun guy to have around and has brought a lot to General.

As for the Spam invasion.. well you already know my thoughts on that, but you've inplied that the 'invasion' didn't play any part in this decision, it was just caused by the number of deletions he's had?

I have to admit, he has commited a lot of offences that, if a player with a 'lesser profile', had commited just one of the offences they probably would've been deleted.

Not quite true.. a player with a lesser profile (unless you're referring to our regular malicious spammer!!)... would get one warning, then deleted with the second.. the IP ban (if possible) would come after a few deletions... (which is effectivly what's happened here... given my understanding)

The first deletion was warranted. Noone debates that.

As for the 'spam invasion', you are still at odds with the players for that one. It is classified as a crime by the mods only.

The only time the mods have seriously gone against the players, is with the latest deletions of Beeks (and to a lesser extent, RS), and the 'invasion'.

I was putting it from the point of view that he can't be IP banned, so he will just get deleted all the time.

curious question, Neut, if you can't impose an IP ban, if he made a new nation and just didn't identify himself as being Beeker, would you still know it was him? :?

They can, and regularly do, IP scan nations. I've watched a mod delete puppets of a repeat offender as they were created in the past.

Hey.... no one likes a tell tale!! He's just sayin' goodbye... and seeing as the <insert some techy stuff about IP addresses> can't stop him.. the only way for him to go is voluntarily.. so why don't we let people say goodbye and then get on with our lives?

I wish. His new nation is "Cuneo (Sp?) Island". He has a house thread somewhere in general...

Not if these were all either ovvereactions on your part or in the later instances trivial ittitations unworthy of response, no.

He's just a kid who can't get the idea that we're not all video game characters here to get splattered, that's all.

Maybe if he gets some poaitive attention he'll settle down.
