I recieved a telegram on one of my puppets:
sod of u dirty jew

I then blocked this nation responded with something to the effect of (I'm not sure if these were the exact words or not, but it was close.

So having a puppet in control of a region named Lebannon makes me a "dirty jew"? Interesting.

I'm sure that the game moderators will find this interesting as well.

I then filed a report via the Getting Help Page.

This was basically denying the troll food, but the question is: Is deliberately semi-starving a troll (I assume that bland sarcasm will not fuel their pleasure, but rather dampen it, that it would upset them more than either taking the bait or ignoring it completely would), against the rules?

As long as you don't flame back, I see nothing wrong with what you've done in this situation.

Sadly, ignoring trolls tends to work better than anything else. Any reaction whatsoever, bland or white-hot, is acknowledging their existance.

Yeah they do. I know from RL experience, but that doesn't make it a good idea.

Thanks, although as Salusa pointed out, getting trolls angry is potentially an even worse idea than giving them the flames that they so desperately desire.

As for undoing it. As long as ou have a telegram in your inbox, it works just like regional control.
