As the head of a regional acquisition alliance my organization is faced on a daily basis with accusations of griefing. Every time we take a region legitimately in fact. The thing is it's all too easy for anyone to come running to the moderation forum and say "The Atlantic Alliance griefed my region!" Everyone will look at it, see it's in a moderation forum, and assume it's gospel when in fact it's just libel. The thing is there's an outlet that most people know, known as the getting help page, that is for requesting moderator help. Posting to the moderation forum for such things serves one purpose, and one purpose only, to blacken our name as much as humanly possible. The motive? Because they were just invaded and they don't like it. It doesn't matter if in the end the moderators say nothing we did was wrong, there will still be an overwhelming majority of nations that will see the accusation, but not the verdict. I've seen this happen time and again and it's really starting to anger me. I suggest that this sort of practice be condemned, if not made illegal, by the moderators. It's blatant griefing.
Reporting (potential) greifings on the moderation board is already condemed AFAIK. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be for forum problems (like spammers and flamers on the forums).

Mr. Nonchalant. As a victim of one of your takeovers, I will say now, that my people have long memories. Despite your organizations recent overtures to my people you seem to have gone back to your previous behaviours.
If your organization had not behaved so badly in the first place, the players of the game would not be so willing to believe badly of you. You do have some bad eggs and if you are to retain a good reputation, you need to deal with them.
i will agree that griefed regions should do their research carefully before putting the blame on this region or that for thier troubles.
now i will go and wash my mouth out with soap as this is not something i even say on the playground.

When there are accusations of griefing, they are thoroughly investigated before Mod action, if any, is taken.
This is, of course, one reason we prefer that nations other than GMs not post their opinions concerning these accusations - merely any factual evidence they might have gathered.

As you can see he believes my organization has quite a few bad eggs. An opinion generated by this sort of libel in addition to his own experiences.

I've learned something in my short years here on this earth. No matter what you do, someone will complain. Therefore, all I can really do is say "suck it up." I know it's not what you want to hear, but that's what it comes down to.

Let em complain all they want. As long as you stay within the rules of the game. It's very satisfying when when some poor soul cries "GRIEFING!!!!!!" in the forum and a mod comes in and says "Ummm nope, it's all legal". As an invader, you're always gonna be considered a lower class citizen. Just make sure you remind them that you out-played them and all they did was go crying to mommy.

Give it some time. Sometimes you get lucky and theres 2 or 3 mods checking up on things and sometimes you have to wait. This isn't their job, it's something they do for FUN.
At best, I disagree with you. Allow players to make accusations, if they prove false. Now, if certain players are guilty of crying wolf, surely I agree with you. But a group should not get “safe status” in which nonone can accuse them of griefing. I work with a group of invaders, and we are accused of cheating frequently. We are continually found not to cheat. And with the exception of The Basenji (just a joke I am sure he will get) most players remember that we are completely legal. So while I am against pro wolf-criers, I disagree that it hurts my integrity to be accused.
At worst, the title of this thread is intellectually dishonest.

See what I mean, people still believe Nowa griefed Italy. He didn't, he just founded it after the former founder killed it.
