:idea: I don't see how pissing people off is all that bad... He said that racist are idiots and then quoted Lincoln... what's the problem with that.. a devout racist might get mad, but if they are really devout then they will be able to defend themselves in a debate...

He didn't create the post to intitiate meaningful debate. He created it to anger racists and get them to yell at him. Hence, flamebait.

:idea: let's just say that you're right(which you aren't but that's beside the point)... does that negate the fact that the thread has evolved into a meaningful debate about Lincoln and his true social and political ideology?
