Un Violations unfounded.

09-12-2003, 12:31
Recently A nation in my region was accused of UN multying.
While this may have certainly appeared the case..the fact is that the user logged onto his nation while using someone elses computer, who also had a nation of thier own.

In short...the user didnt actually try to un milti.....it was simply a misunderstanding.

I..as thier benevolent Un Delegate, am here to ask if this situation can be remedied.
if you check the IP addresses of the two nations in question..you will see they are different..
If you archive these listings..you will notice that only the one time was the same IP adress used for both nations.

So...is there anything that can be done for these two?
-thanks,
-RBS.

Send a Getting Help page report to the moderators (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=help)

They can do an IP check to see if the IP addresses only matched on a single occasion, and if so, might restore your nation.

First, this belongs in Moderation.

Second, as I understand, there's no way (aside from ^ ) to tell a multier from someone who innocently logs in somewhere inappropriate. Since there's no way the Mods can easily tell, they've historically refused to differentiate. Be more cautious next time, is my advice.

Generally, if the IPs only matched one a single occasion, I think the mods will forgive it. That's what it says in [violet]'s post above anyway.

Still, I haven't seen them put the policy into practice much. I think it's because, mostly, they're careful about who they delete in the first place.

it's which mod it is really and whether they stick to the rules and don't bend neut doesn't allow much lee-way but other mods might just bad luck i suppose in your case

I dont allow leeway in UN ejections or deletions I make because I'm careful to make sure the evidence supports my decision. As do the other Mods. And when I see a request such as this, and investigate, I find that the other Mods were correct.

I did not do this UN ejection.

When it comes to multying, there is no leeway. Not from any of the Mods. You multi, you will be caught, and you will lose either UN membership or the nation itself. Plain and simple.
