Clarity on Pacific spamming...

...does this mean that if one is kicked out of a region, then one has the right to send an infinite number of puppets into said region for the purpose of disrupting legit local communication and clogging up ban lists?

not to disrupt communication, but sending in puppets isn't illegal, as long as they behave ;)

and about clogging up the banlist, well..
he always has the choice not to kick puppets out..

Maybe we should provisionally say you can send infinite puppets into a pacific region. Of course it's not possible to create infinite puppets so lets just say lots. How can you interfere with communications when there is already so much traffic?

The ban lists are plenty big.

It's a simple situation, seemingly, made more complex by the fact that I have seen several threads in the past where Delegates complain they do not want a player in their region, yet they keep making new incarnations do go around the Banned list. Now, I would think this is perfectly legal, and should be. Time and time again though I have seen mods post that if you are not wanted at all in the region, and have banned and asked by the Delegate repeatidly not to come in the region, this would be against the rules. I have heard mods say they will warn the guilty party.

I am not saying I agree with this, but this is what mods have done in the past. Was there a difference in these other situations?

Seems like perfectly legal guerilla and propaganda tactics to me. In RL guerillas attack from over the borders all the time. The only difference here is that guerillas are not allowed to spam and flame

yeah, and they don't hide either ;)

ackbar, weren't those puppets used to flame or spam?
or did they just move in, and behaved?

But they still seem to do it. Hence the original question is still valid.

If Francos Spain had any real reasons to complain about CG's puppts in The Pacific, that he would have already complained to the MODs about her. Since she was only booted out of The Pacific with no MOD action taken, then he has no argument.

Hideot is my puppet, so I continue this converstation.

If you see CG flaming or spamming, I urge you to report her immediately. Vague acusations will get you nowhere. I must admit that she's trolling though. I wonder if there's a rule against trolling. If there is one, no doubt Francos would have rubbed our noses in it

Time and time again though I have seen mods post that if you are not wanted at all in the region, and have banned and asked by the Delegate repeatidly not to come in the region, this would be against the rules. I have heard mods say they will warn the guilty party.

Two differences I see here:

1- We are talking about a Feeder region. Feeder regions are 'open' regions (all not specifically banned are free to enter), as indicated by there not being an ability to password protect a feeder region.

2- In all previous cases I've seen, the offending player was guilty of harrassing the natives in the region. Not just the delegate or a few players, but just about all active players in that region. The offending player would use the puppets to continue to post on the Civil HQ Board and flamebait the players in that region.

I cannot determine whether or not Crazy Girl qualifies for that second part, merely that no evidence is being presented that makes it clear to me that this would the case.

found a definition in siro's guide..

Trolling: Posts that are made with the aim of angering people. (like 'ALL JEWS ARE [insert vile comment here]' for example). Also is used to refer to making obviously silly topics that people nonetheless will reply to. (making a case for the proof that teletubbies exist for instance. There will always be someone who feels compelled to post 'No they don't.' despite the fact that threads like this should be just left to die.)

mmm, didn't think i was doing that..

I'm curious. Is there a list of definitions for these terms. Flaming, Trolling, etc. I keep hearing these words, but I'm not quite clear on what they mean. Let me know, too.

Not in that sense though. I just wonder, are you not entering The Pacific with the goal of making Francos angry? If you do, that might be called "trolling". Even calling him "Frankie" might be called trolling. It is not flamebaite. Well, you call me "Cor" all the time. Which is almost the same. I know you don't mean it to anger me, but does Frankie thinks the same?

i don't know, you think so?

As long as it doesn't turn into flaming, flamebaiting, spamming, multying, or plain faul stuff, I don't see a problem here.

yeah but look at it from francos's point of view he has to eject loads of puppets from his region so it must get on his nerves...though i disapprove of his actions i ask that you sypathise with him but i had a friend who did that so i can't complain though what i don't like about francos is his name "The People's King" or "The Adored Leader" i dunno why but i don't like this anyone else agree?
