'ModAlert' suggestion...

In lieu of a keyword search, would it be a good idea to have a topic specifically for ModAlerts?

I understand that this thread would grow extremely quickly, but the general idea goes as such:

NationA posts a topic which looks ok by topic in the NationStates forum but it only contains "OMGnOeS i WIlL haXX0RZ J00!".
NationB sees this post and posts a ModAlert in it.
NationA replies with a troll while NationB wanders off with the URL copied to the clipboard to the ModAlert thread.
NationB opens the ModAlert thread and pastes something like:
Topic: Inconspicuous Roleplay Topic (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/url/goes/here.php)
Posted: OMGnOeS i WIlL haXX0RZ J00!
ModeratorA waddles onto the ModAlert topic and sees the post, and the URL.
ModeratorA clicks the URL and does their thing on the topic.
NationB doesn't post a thankyou on the ModAlert topic as this would clog it up...

Just an idea...

Um... that's what the Moderation forum is for. If you come along some flame, spam etc in the forum report it on the Moderation forum and supply a link (to the page not the topic; We don't like wading through fifty pages of chat. )

Heh, I posted this in the wrong forum... :?

Sorry, just been playing my flute, and it makes me dizzy and a bit dozey for a few hours afterwards...

The basic idea would be that this topic (in moderation) would be for things like single posts, whereas the Moderation forum per se would be for bigger issues, like people who've spammed lots or are constantly flaming/flamebaiting...

The general idea is that it'd be for the little things that need dealing with. An advantage would be that the moderators could delete posts from the topic as they're dealt with, which is easier reloading hundereds of threads...

PS: I'd appreciate it if someone moved this into Moderation for me... :?

I like it. There are things that get modalerted all the time, but if they were actually posted in moderation as threads then it would be a lot harder for the mods to deal with them (I think)

Like Modalert  [new forum]

Isn't this like a discription of the difference between the Moderation page and the getting help page?
Sounds like we already have this in the game, if people use it correctly.

No, the getting help page is for in game issues. Moderation is for the forum.

The basic idea was to try and cut down the amount of threads being created for things which once would have been modalerted by keeping them all in one place.

I have seen Cogitation trying to do that many times. It worked a little bit but not enough, unless a mod would make that a sticky. That means a sticky thread, solely for the purpose of placing modalerts. Looks like a good idea.

I tend to align with this school of thought. This is the main, though not particularily only, purpose for this forum.

Hmmm. Makes me wonder if I was filling out all those MOD reports correctly in the first place. I hope that I got what I had meant across with enough info. At least the result is what I was looking for. I'd hate to be a MOD to have to sift through all that.
