Grave digging

Can you give me a clear definition as to what is grace digging?

Is replying to a 2-week old topic comparable to a 2 month topic?
Is replying to a topic on page 5 comparable to one located on page 55?
What exactly is grave digging.

Like most rules in NS, gravedigging appears to be a relative thing. If it adds something to the conversation, I doubt it will be frowned upon. If it's random bumping of five-month-old threads, that's unacceptable.

It depends entirely on whether you are doing it to further the original conversation. Bumping a two week old topic to continue the discussion would be OK. Although doing so in Technical or Moderation with regard to a resolved issue would be frowned upon. But if you do make a mistake, bumping one topic will not result in anything horrible happening to you. However, bumping over half a dozen out of mischief could be construed as spamming. There is nothing really to worry about, as it is usually pretty obvious what a player's motivation is. I have never locked a bumped thread where someone genuinely wished to pick up the discussion.
