UN security system question

I know that the UN application system will send a rejection telegram to anyone applying with an email address already in use by an existing UN nation.

Does this check also block accounts with matching IPs from joining the UN together?

I think they posted somewhere that it did.

In my completely non-technical opinion, I can say that it should do that. Whether or not is does (and whether or not anyone will actually go on record one way or the other) is a different matter.

The problem is it would probably pick up schools and block people from the same schol (f they've both logged on there). The mods have said before that they don't use school IPs (as in those that resolve to *.edu or other school addresses) to check for UN multis. Of course, not blocking for those addresses could be implemented, too.

If that is true, it makes no sense. Hypothetically, I could make 500 UN nations and not have them deleted.

Notice I did say hypothetically

Considering the large number of people claiming to be accessing this game from behind a NAT, and our statements that our methods can differentiate between multies and valid UN nations through a NAT, I'd say that it is a safe assumption that we don't automatically deny applications of that sort.

Actually, the situation that led to this question has nothing to do with school IPs.

Someone in my family has developed a nascent interest in this game, and while I'm trying to advise against it (this game is not something that he would like one bit), he still seems slightly interested. I want to be sure that, in the possibility that my warnings are unheeded, I won't get ejected from the UN and the Rejected Realms won't be thrown back into chaos.

This has been noted. However, please discourage them strongly from joining the UN.

Like Salusa said ... they have other methods. Plus someone would have to have a whole lot of email accounts for that many multis

They haven't even joined the game yet. And never will, most likely. Still, you can't be too careful.
