Lost foundership

21-11-2003, 10:14
The founder of Barbelith has lost founder status. I know it is more than a few weeks ago, but I haven't been playing for some time now. How can a founder lose status without being deleted? What happened. The founder's name is Cassandrah. I don't think she got foundership illegally

I seem to recall an attack on that region by some (now deleted) nations from Off Roaders Paradise about 1.5 months ago. Unfortunately, I'm not sure whether or not the region had a founder at that time, but perhaps it had something to do with it?

I reported that griefing myself. The former founder got deleted because of inactivity, and after the griefing Cassandrah recreated the region. Now she has lost foundership and the place is without founder again. Was that a request of the natives or some strange decision of the game moderators?

Corinthe, I believe that you're well-familiar with the infamous Moderator Bureaucratic Slowness?

Be patient. When a moderator who is familiar with this situation gets online, you will probably get an answer. Maybe. :?

Anyway.... I have no knowledge of this specific case.

I can't find anything about it in the regional happenings either. It must have happened a few days after I stopped playing. I just wonder why it happened, and if it can be reversed. I think the region experienced a role-back, but I though the griefing was resolved with the deletion of the griefers.

I have no idea, but I like riddles.

The only thing would be if it were deleted (maybe accidently even, I don't know) and re-instated it likely would not retain founder status of regions it once founded....? Dunno, just thinking outside the box is all.

If a nation {that was designated Founder of one or more regions} was deleted for inactivity and later resurrected, then it should retain it's status as Founder.

If anyone finds that this is not the case (that is, your national name appears as Foudner without a hyperlink), then please submit a Getting Help (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=help) request. The category is "Other".

Sorry, but it's personal. I just need to know. Otherwise stranger things gonna happen in this game, and we all turn aphatic. The only real question is; How long we have to bump this up before the mod in question knows we're talking about him/her :?

Willing to continue to talk to you in this thread, because as of yet it is still a progressive discussion. That said, I'm not entirely sure you are going to get a Mod response. They were nice enough not to lock the thread yet (not that I can see why they should, Q not Aed yet) but I haven't heard any booming voices on this one yet, at least not since the 22nd (Cog's post).

Again, I'm not familiar with the case history, here. However, I can suggest a course-of-action.

If the nations in that region all want a Founder (and can agree on who that Founder should be), then they can all move out of the region, wait for the region to be deleted, and then have their desired Founder re-found the region. That way, they can have a Founder and this discusison becomes moot.

There are only 16 nations in Barbelith, so this should (hopefully) not be a problem.

No can do. It has been to long ago, and they have never spoken about this. Forget about it. I'll continue to play with all my disadvantages and setbacks as good as I can. This matter has been closed for me, and I moved on. A mod has done this, and he's keeping a stiff upper lip about it. This is not the first strange thing about this game, and it probably will not be the last. Thanks Cog, it is not you :)

Extrapolating off your post here, Corinthe, my guess would be that as Cassandrah didnt actually create the region and the region was griefed and then deleted as a result of that griefing, it is most likely that a Mod recieved an issue in the Mod Center, removed Cassandrah as the founder, and as the original founder was already deleted, no new founder was appointed.

Regardless of which Mod it is responsible, I find it appalling that you are upset because a nation that didnt found a specific region was removed from founder status in that region...sheesh.
02-12-2003, 21:06
Now the region is without founder again. Did anybody complained of the new status quo? The same thing happened to another nation yesterday, and you don't see me complaining about it, because at least the region wasn't left without a founder.
I am upset because the region is without a founder again, and I thought that everything was okay with Cassandrah being the new founder. The mod, in this case, should at least have asked the natives what they thought about the situation. No matter how high a mod may be in rank, he/she has no right to simply take foundership away, because that region was without founder before.
