Slag had people spam in one of my threads, and he gave them persmison. Shouldn't this be against the rules? I mean, he asked people to spam in my thread.

Slag DID NOT approve of spam, he just said post normal posts to get it to p65.

My point is that a lot of threads on this forum have been turning into post-count raising threads in which someone says "You did it!" in one post, someone else says "No I didn't!" in another, someone else chimes in with "He did it, I saw him!" while another says, "No he didn't, and I have it all recorded in chronological order with references!"

Okay, so maybe it's normally someone quoting someone else and adding a :roll: face back and forth, but you get the point...

They took comments a bit out of context in the name of good fun. I'm sure no foul was meant, NEE.

I have read the last five pages of the linked thread and did not see any mod authorization for any spam. Just a post by Slag saying that he drove up in a bulldozer.

I saw posts by ordinary players claiming that they had mod authorization to spam, but that is not the same thing.

It's possible that he would. I don't know if it's likely, but it's possible. It's also possible that there was a misunderstading of some sort.

Let me tell you exactly what happened so we can drop this-

In IRC, the fact that Nee's house was coming to the 65 page mark was brought up. It was at 64 pages, so Slag told us we can post in it, till it was at 65 pages. We took this the wrong way, and decided he meant spam. So we spammed the topic up, and he locked it. No big deal, it was a joke.

Then, the spam countined through to his current thread. We kept posting for laughs, with all intentions of backing off after a page or two. Just as we were leaving, Nee posted this up and claimed Slaggy wanted/told us we can spam up Nee's place.

That's the story. We took it to far, and am sorry for it, aren't we guys? It wasn't a massive spam, and was for fun. Obviously Nee didn't take it as the joke it was meant to be.

Again, I am sorry. We are sorry. Now, let's just walk away. This really isn't big enough to do anything over, and none of us have a history of spam. The fact we stopped spamming Nee's house shows he didn't mean harm.

Unlocked just long enough so that I can explain...

My roommates were clamoring to start a movie--American Beauty, incidentally, my favorite movie--and as I was leaving, either Basenji or Liverpool noted that NEE's thread had reached 64 pages. I requested that the residents of the room post briefly to the thread to get it to 65 pages; that way, I could lock the thread and get on to my movie, in the event that another forum mod wasn't present.

I'm sorry someone interpreted my statement as "mod-authorized spam," but the idea was to contribute something to the discussion at hand--that way, I could get the subject to 65 pages quicker and be on my way. This was in no way meant to hinder and discourage you from posting further topics like this.
