Funny? Yes. One of the "Greatest Threads of All Time?" Probably not, IMHO.

I'm all for archiving as many threads as possible. The problem is, I don't envision all of NS and II being put in the Archive. Therefore, I think it's kind of a waste putting threads such as these in the Archive while some truly classic threads are still out floating about the forums.

Just my 2 knugels....

What I wonder is why "Sirocco's Guide to the Language of NationStates" is in there.

It is still semi-active, so why was it archived?

maybe they should sticky all the really good threads in there, and just let the midly amusing ones float around beneath

that was pretty funny though

Overall, I agree. It may be funny as hell, but certainly not meaningful in my eyes.

I saw that earlier ... it just makes you wonder just what kind of quality something has to be to get into the archive.

It was my decision... and sort of a snap one. If it's too unpopular, I'll move it, but I didn't see any harm in dropping a funny thread or two in there. You'll notice that a few of my joke threads ended up there as well. ;)

Before Slag archived that, he asked those on IRC in #nationstates_general.
Case closed.

I thought the Archive was for NS/II threads, not General threads. I have no objection to General threads being included, but I'd like a clear ruling.

I have no objection to including as many threads as possible in the Archive. If I had my way, every NS/II/UN/General thread that had any point whatsoever would be included in the Archive. However, I don't think this is going to happen. I only worry about good RP being squeezed out of the Archive in favor of threads such as these.

The post in question has been removed from the Archive, as I just remembered that the hilarious parts were placed in the "Most memorable quotes [sic] of all time" thread.

Now THAT's one of the "Greatest threads of all time." Of course, we're nowhere even close to finishing it....
