Foundership in The Imperial Empire

15-11-2003, 22:19
Im not sure where this should go, but oh well...

The founder of the Imperial Empire has been inactive for a while, and being a region with few UN members, we are slightly in threat of invasion. We do have plenty of enemies who would do that. So I was wondering, could Morvan Mab Tegid, our current delegate, be our founder?

No, they won't do that. The best thing to do is to get this nation to create a new region so that he is founder. Otherwise, just sit tight! :P

There has to be a way I can take the foundership. The founder Eshek hasn't logged on in a while. almost 20 days.

Is it possible if I can take the founder position if Eshek is deleted from lack of loggin on?

They don't do this even when the founders asks them too, let alone without the founder's permission.

The mods generally only appoint founders now in cases of griefing, and I'm hoping they'll make exceptions for the largest player-created regions which tend to be griefer magnets.

If your region is small enough, you can try all moving out of the region, then create it again when it gets deleted at the update. Perhaps the mods would be willing to allow the next delegate to eject all the nations in the region, then password protect the region and leave it for deletion. Then someone can found it again after the update. I'm not sure if how the mods would treat that though, so I wouldn't advise doing it unless a mod confirms my idea...

I asked to be made founder of Canada about a week ago, and I haven't heard anything yet. I assume it's not a high priority for the mods, to say the least, and I'm starting to doubt if it will happen at all. And I founded Canada under another user name, which has long since ceased to exist.

I wouldn't hold your breath.

I think they made a ruling about appointing Founderships. It was something like, you have to prove you actually made the region... and this only applied to OLD region before founders existed. I'm not sure the installation of founders is still being done even for griefing incidents.

I think you'll have to empty the region and remake it.

Essentially it's come to this:

The Mods have discussed at some length the continuing claims for foundership. Due to the excessive length of time regions have had to address the lack of an official founder no more founder requests are being accepted (except in abnormal cases - i.e. region griefing/region recreated afterwards). Claims for founder are being completely ignored unless accompanied with unequivicable proof of the original founder.

What about exceptionally large regions that have already been griefed several times...

Why should larger regions get preferential treatment? If there is no founder, the Del should have regional controls, and can simpyl PW like any other region.

Also, I was wondering if this official ruling could be posted somewhere (i.e. an already existing sticky perhaps) , Neut, since it is asked fairly often.

With larger regions, more is at risk if the Founder leaves the game or is deleted.

There is always more at risk if it is a region you have personal involvment with. I see no reason, with all due respect, that rules should be expanded or ignored just because a region is larger. As noted, the Delegate can simply put up a password, and all will be secure.
