question for mods

15-11-2003, 22:04
I have recently been asked to take over delegacy for my region; to do this I am supposed to move the current delegate's nation in and out of the region, my question for this is, if I log in on another un nation would I be ejected?

I edited out the post. Not that the damage was contained or anything, butcha know...

Why do you need to move the current delegate's nation?
16-11-2003, 00:22
Because he can't sign on for a while and wants me to take delegate position in his absence. For this he wants me to lose his endorsements by moving his nation.

Why couldn't he just move the nation before leaving and move it back when he gets back?

Or simply have everyone endorsing him switch their endorsements to your nation.
16-11-2003, 00:28
First, he can't get on in the first place for a while, second this is to make sure that all endorsements are switched to me.

Logging into 2 differnt UN nations will most likely get you ejected from the UN. I suggest you find another way - whether it mean removing your nation from the UN temporarily to move his nation and then rejoining the UN, whatever. Better to be safe than sorry.

Why not log in to his nation and withdraw it from the UN? When he gets back he can re-apply.

We're attempting to avoid logging into two different UN nations...

Surely the ten seconds needed to login, go to the UN page and click the resign from the UN button is acceptable?

Sorry... tried to avoid any real detail .. oh well

I don't think the game cares so much how long you logged in. I'd bet that it'd take about the same amount of time for any real multi to log in and endorse themselves and then leave the nation to rot. Just because it doesn't take a lot of time doesn't mean the game won't eject him for it.

FYI, the game doesn't automatically detect when a user has logged in as two different UN nations. It takes a mod to review the IP logs and eject them both.
If one of them is out of the UN by the time the mod checks it, I don't think the ejection from the UN still stands.

I thought it did scan the logs by itself. :?

I've known people who've had two UN nations in a household for months until someone got suspicious and made a mod report.

And the chances of getting caught are pretty high: the game uses four different methods to detect cheaters.

I always took that to mean there was some sort of automation to detecting UN multis.

Sorta, kinda, but we ain't telling.

Oh, and that's just what the game does. We Mods have our ways as well...

So if I do carry out this plan and I am ejected, will you, o great mods and admins, restore me?

I won't answer this question officially, but I will tell you that it's probably not worth the risk.

Just post on your Civil Headquarters board asking everyone to unendorse The Dominion of Caiusdom and to endorse you.

From your Civil Headquarters board:

The Dominion of Caiusdom

http://theleftsnirvana.proboards21.com if you havent seen in it in the log book than thats the website address for our message board. register, it takes seconds and we can talk there.
if you are wandering why i am posting when the school have banned nationstates, its because i am at home, can check it at least once a week but will be daily on our message board.
caius

I take this to mean that Caiusdom can access the offsite forums (from school) but can't log into NationStates. Therefore, he can use the offsite forums to announce that everyone should unendorse him and endorse you.

The only automatic way I know of is by checking e-mail addresses. It doesn't automatically do it with IP addresses, because then there wouldn't be a single AOL user in the UN.
