I've seen other forum sites do this, and I was wondering if you guys would consider it. A flaming forum. That would draw the flames away from general into the flaming forum where they are allowed to be! So long as people don't post anything outside of the rules, like porn or personal info of other people without their presmission, it would be fun!

Of course, people that don't want to go in there and get flamed won't have to. It's up to the person wheter or not they want to read it.

And the topics must be debates, you can not simply post- "I hate you all, go to hell!!!" The topics and posts must be logical, not just blindly dissing everyone. And if someone wants to debate over something without getting flamed they can still go into general and do it.

Is it something to consider? :)

It has been suggested countless times. The killer problem is, it would be a waste of server resources. It is far easier to police the current forum structure than attempt to channel the problem into a purpose built area. Which, in itself, would probably not work, since doing anything "edgy" in a controlled environment rapidly becomes stale.

A flaming program would make this place be slow all the time instead of just sometime... It seems like a good idea though, maybe someone can start an InvisionFree forum or something.

You could always create an off-site flame forum and just let people know the link for it. Not sure if it would be the same.. but it's an option. :)

Nah, it's really not the same. Unless of course, I did so and it was stickied to alert people of it. That wouldn't be a bad idea!

Ok, I'll go (after school) and make a flame only forum. I'll provide the link and one of the mods can sticky it in General. How's that sound?

Beforewarned: You need to consult the rules of the forum-hosting service you use. If your service (maybe EZBoard and InvisionFree, but I'm not sure) states that you have to control the content of forum posts hosted on their service, then they may forcibly may shut down any forum whose Admins/Mods don't keep flaming in check.

I would imagine that some services do have such rules while some do not have any such rules. Again, check the rules of the forum-hosting service you use.

If you own your own server and webspace, then this is obviously not an issue.

What??? :o I think the RP should be moved off site! The general forum is much more popular then II and Nationstates. More people are part of general then both of those forums combined.

The reason for this site is RPing. If anything the general should be moved because the point of the game is to RP, if you want to talk about regular stuff, find another site.

I always thought it was 1) to sell Max's books 2) to discuss politics and 3) to play the game.
