3) Should you choose to report an in-game request via the mod forum, do not use the names of the nations involved on the forum.

This applies to cases where guilt cannot be determined by players. Specifically: UN Multies. Players do not have the ability to determine if someone is guilty of UN multying, so the names of the accused should not be used as the nations accused may actually be innocent.

Policy on inappropriate flags, nation names, currencies, and national animal doesn't seem to be consistent. But, to be safe, consider it a Getting Help (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=help) request.

These constitute in-game problems and should also go to the "Getting Help (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=help)" page.

The rest is correct.

I've noticed few mods asking flag, nation name, animal, and currency requests be kept to the Getting Help (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=help) page, but as you say, so shall it be.

Noted and edited.

Can we see how many references to the Getting Help (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=help) page we can have in one thread?

Please understand that the mods are terribly busy. In the year of NS' operation, they have handled five thousand (!) requests. This amounts to around thirteen a day.

And actually, there were no game moderators until late March/early April, so that average is probably quite a bit higher =) (There have been times where Neut and I or Scolo and I will sit down and pull a late night tasklist marathon in which more than 200 complaints get handled in one night!)

Very good post, hopefully people will read this stuff before posting complaints =)

Sticky?

I think this is a superb post. Should help alot in keeping the Bandwith space taken low.

If people read the Stickes we would not have this thread.

1. http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=51584

2. http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=58055

3. a. I concede that this is not in any sticky or announcement tat I've seen, but it does not justify stickying this whole thread. The announcements and stickies in the moderation forum are all by moderators for the obvious reason, that they are the experts and it comes straight from the horse's mouth, and go into the details as to why.

I do -- but as has been noted, sometimes the method of handling a particular problem has not been consistent.

This should help -- so stick away!

I agree, my eyes don't go above the normal post icons. Ever. When they make a new sticky/announcement it usually takes me atleast a week to notice it (if I hadn't seen it before it was stickied).

These problems would be solved if they read the stickies already up, or the threads alreadt in the forum.

Don't get mw wrong, I think this would be a fine thing to include, just don't expect this to take care of the problem.

If everyone read the stickies, we would constantly be bombarded with 'I think so and so has two UN nations' or 'Why haven't the mods done anything yet' threads.

So you see there is no point in bumping this, as there are threads for all of these thins except part of 3, and if it becomes real problem then the mods will make an announcement.

Manmen, although I appreciate the fact that you're trying to help, the present decision among the mods is that there is no need for additional stickies at this time.

Thank you.
