My Region's disappeared!!

08-11-2003, 05:19
Logged on the other day and found myself in a region called "the Rejected Realms" with 1800 other people!
I thought it must have been a computer error or something so searched for my region "IOTPlanet" but apparently it doesn't exist (yes the spelling is correct). I get this message:
Uh-oh Region Not Found: "IOTPlanet"

Been playing for about 6 months and a mate started it up. A few have dropped out but there were still 9 or 10 of us left in. The couple of people that I've spoken to don't know what's happened either. I didn't think regions ceased to exist?!!

Have looked on the forum for answers but no joy
Can anyone help?

Someone could have griefed you, dumped you in the RR, then left and waited for the region to die. Just start a new region.

The Rejected Realms is the region that anyone who is ejected is automatically transferred to.

The other possibility is that your region was involved in bad doing such as region griefing or crashing and the entire region was sent to the Rejected Realms and the region was deleted. Check for other nations in the region including your friend the founder, see if they are in the Rejected Realms.

Ejection is not (from my experience) a punishment that the mods use to deal with rule violators. Offending nations are usually warned, UN-ejected, or deleted. So it is unlikely that this was a mod action.

No. This seriously sounds like either the region was crashed (my bet) or the founder cleared the region (Most likely not in this case). Re-create the region yourself, making you the founder, and remove delegate access to the regional controls. As long as you are there, it will continue to exist.

Since the region no longer exists, then you will have no way to find out either way what happened. Report it to the MODs anyway and they might be able to check it out. Don't know if they can or not.

Let me clear this up. Someone with access to Regional Control for your region kicked you out of the region. This had to have been either the Delegate or the Founder for your region. Since you started your region a long time ago, you may not have had a Founder.

That leaves the Delegate. There are two possibilities that I can think of off of the top of my head.

The first possibility is that whoever your Delegate was decided to kick everyone out of the region and leave the region. The region would then auto-delete, since it was empty.

The second possibility is that several UN member nations moved into your region and endorsed each other for Delegate while you and your friends weren't looking. When one of them became Delegate, they kicked all of you out of the region and left the region. The region, being empty, auto-deleted.

You should file a complaint to the "Getting Help (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=help)" page. Taking over the Delegacy of a region is legal, but kicking everyone out of the region is not legal.

The Game Moderators tend to be very busy; there may be a delay of several days before a Game Mod investigates your complaint. In the meantime, create your region over again and ask your friends to move back in.

Cheers guys. Looks like someone invaded us and kicked us all out.
Oh well, we've created a new one now.
Thanks anyway

Be sure to remind The Federation of Leyton Orient Lovers to disable Delegate access to Regional Control; this should insure that griefings can;t hapen again.
