The troll in that thread committed a tired old fallacy about free speech. "Free speech" restricts government (specifically Congress) and not private individuals.

If the NS owners tell us we can't use the word "hello", then they are not abridging OUR "free speech" — they are exercizing THEIRS.

Very well said, Noncoercion. If only more people like you were on hand every time Freedom of Speech (or anything else in the old Bill of Rights) cropped up, we'd have a much saner forum setup.

Of course, by the same chalk the Bill of Rights can't be cited in relation to any action I take - since I'm not an American citizen anyway.
