Germania: Sick Jokes about 11th September plus Nazi Symbols.

Once again I was making my usual patrol along the Nazi and white power regions and then I found this region Germania.

At first I saw a nation with a flag showing Hitler with his famous symbol on it's arm (the swastika). Another nation had a SS symbol as flag. In the regional messageboard were some "jokes" about 11th September. It is in Dutch so I shall translate it as perfectly as I can...

Religious Extremism makes people weak? Where were you at Sept. 11?

I was searching (it says hunting but he means searching) for my four planes which I lost somewhere.

I haven't seen them back again, well at least not for real, I saw them back on television... What a performance wasn't it?

Yeah well at least we had some firworks!. On the news I heard one or two windows were broke because of it. This is clearly a cynical Dutch sentence. He says like nothing has happened while he clearly knows something HORRIBLE happened.

I find this QUITE offensive.

I do not see anything wrong with the comments allegedly made. SS runes on flags are legal. I will however investigate the presence of the swastika.

Here is the link of the nation you are probably searching for:

I have requested Game Mod action against that nation.

Interesting. Guess it is a way to sneak the swasticky in there.

Talk about a tame joke.
also known a sarcasm.

The fact that the offended party went through the time to translate it means he has conspiracy towards said offending group.

This here is the problem. If you don't want to see jokes like this, don't patrol the region. The falg is (probably) illegal, but you don't have to read the regional board to see the flag.

I also wish to clarify that Germanica didn't post any of the comments quoted.

There is nothing wrong with reporting misuse of regional message boards. It is something best done through the Getting Help page ( http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=help ), and in this case the dialogue in question was not against the rules, but if something which would be acted upon in the Forums is said on a regional message board, chances are it is out of line and worth reporting. I myself glance over some regional message boards on occasion, to many a nation's cost.

Incidentally, if the Mod in question or the players reporting it can read the language used, that is not much of a defence.

Once again though, the Getting Help page is the appropriate channel.

In my opinion it is the responsibility of every NS member to report anything offensive on this lovely site. Sure we as normal nations can do little about flamers and Nazi's but the mods can, and probably will if they are seemingly offensive. To me it is just a duty to report anything offesnive on this site, if we would not be able to do so. This thread on it's own would be 77489890 pages thanks to numerous of Post-whores, flamers, nazi's or whatever.
